Keith Arthur Brandt
Keith Arthur Brandt was born on April 7, 1942 and passed away at age 78 on Friday, October 30, 2020. Keith fought a good fight for 15 days in the intensive care unit in Salt Lake City, Utah. The covid-19 virus overloaded his immune system causing infection after infection. Keith’s siblings were very engaged with his medical team during his hospital care.
Keith resided in Salt Lake City for the past 11 years. Family was very important to Keith including his ancestors. After he retired, he moved to Salt Lake City to do genealogy research at the Family History Library at Temple Square reknowned for their vast collection and links to international sources. Keith had previously lived in Seattle and had worked as a technical services librarian doing research for Microsoft, He had also resided in Honolulu, Milwaukee, WI and near the Cahokia Mounds State Historic site, Illinois where he was a member of an archeological team. Keith graduated from Marquette University in 1965 and attended graduate school majoring in archeology at University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He was a fountain of knowledge about history, genealogy and social justice issues.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Arthur, his mother, Louella and sister, Louette, He is survived by his siblings, Patti (Seattle, WA), Tom (Santa Ana, CA), Jackie (Seattle, WA) and Jeff (Lacey, WA). He had one niece, Katie Brandt, who lives in Perth, Australia and two nephews: Greg Brandt in San Francisco and Ryan Leong in Spokane, WA and one grand nephew, Kelvin Leong (Spokane, WA).
Keith was a kind, quiet and gentle man who was deeply loved by his family. He chose his final resting place to be with his parents in Campbellsport, Wisconsin.
