Steven R. Hickey Steven R. Hickey

Steven “Steve” Roger Hickey, of Campbellsport, WI, born July 9, 1960, in Milwaukee, WI, passed on to Heaven, November 13, 2020, at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He was 60 years old.
In high school he started working for a Harley dealership as a mechanic where he found his love for Harleys and even got to ride and party with the Blues Brothers when they were filming in Milwaukee. He worked putting cranes together all over the country, working his way to being a crane operator until retiring from the Local 139 Operating Engineers out of Milwaukee.
He loved frogs. He had frog themed things everywhere. There was always a Guardian frog on his Harleys.
He worked with his hands and was very mechanically inclined as well as being a talented craftsman of many things, including his cabin up north that he built with his late father, (Gene). He was a talented woodworker and made things for his children. He loved baking so much that he would bake cookies just so he could hand them out to his ‘favorite’ friends.
He was a fierce and loyal friend and would do anything to help in time of need.
He and his girlfriend Jeanie were either on his pontoon boat or out in the camper he bought this summer, traveling the state. He even got to take his only grandson Trevor out on one of their camping excursions. He loved riding Harleys with his son Brian and daughter-in-law Michelle and watching the hill climbs every year with his daughter Lisa.
His favorite place to hang out when not traveling, riding Harleys, fishing, boating or spending time with his children, was Dundee’s Roadhouse.
He is survived by his children, Brian (Michelle) Hickey and Lisa Hickey; grandson, Trevor Austin; mother, Louise Becker; girlfriend, Jeanie Gremminger; sisters, Barb (Kent) Bavery and Janet Dunster; brother, David Hickey; aunt, Donna Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Hickey; and his uncle, Frank “Warren” Taylor.
