Marvin E. Tuttle
Marvin E. Tuttle, 77, of Eden went home to his Lord on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. He was born in Fond du Lac on February 19, 1944, the son of Edward and Caroline (nee Ludwig) Tuttle. Marvin served in the U.S. Army from June 1962 to September 1965. On August 16, 1969, he married Mary Ann Neckuty at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Campbellsport.
Marvin worked at Mercury Marine for 39-½ years and in retirement he drove cars for Van Horn in Lomira. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran church in Fond du Lac and the Bintzler-Waehler American Post #347 in Lomira. Marvin was a life – long member of Good Fellows Rod & Gun Club and the NRA. He also was a member of Ducks Unlimited for 50 years where he served as the Fond du Lac County Zone Chairman. He was a behind-the-scenes guy for Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid turkey and deer hunter and operated a tree farm where he spent many hours pruning and tending his trees. Marvin was a special “Appa” for his granddaughter and great-grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann; daughter, Melissa (Shane) Knueppel; granddaughter, Britany Smith; great-grandson, Hyde “Eddie” Kroener; sisters, Jan (Ken) Schuman and Kathy Tuttle; brother, Dale (Shirley) Tuttle; sister-in-law, Carol Carey; and uncle, Francis Tuttle. Further surviving are in-laws, David (Mary) Neckuty, Joanne (Robert) Backhaus, Suzanne (Pete) Kahut, Diane (Michael) Soffa, Pete (Jane) Neckuty and Ronald Neckuty; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Royal and Gordon Carey; infant sister, Iris; in-laws, Peter and Eleanor Neckuty; and stepmother, Bernice Tuttle.
Visitation was held Saturday, December 18, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 606 Forest St.. Fond du Lac. followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. at the Church. Rev James Borgwardt officiated and military honors followed outside the church. Entombment was Monday, December 20, at Ledgeview Memorial Park.
