John ‘Mighty Fine’ Feucht
John ‘Mighty Fine’ Feucht, 85, of Hartford passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee.
John was born the son of Martin and Helen (Kahlhamer) Feucht on May 12, 1937. John attended Mayville High School until his sophomore year, then came back to work on the farm before entering the US Marine Corps. and serving from 1955-1957. He served as a Marine Corps Tank Commander in the South Pacific.

He then came back and was united in marriage to Charlotte Collien and started his family. They later divorced and he was united in marriage to Charlene Jansen on February 11, 1989. John raised his children on the farm in LeRoy, while working 10 years for Waas Boring and Cable. He was also a volunteer Knowles Fireman and Dodge County Deputy Sheriff serving as Constable for LeRoy. John then opened Mighty Fine’s Tavern in Knowles, alongside selling paint jobs for Roberts Brothers Painting. He then went on to work at Slinger Foundry and then finished his working career at Hahn’s True Value in Hartford.
As you can tell, Mighty Fine really never could stop working, and always had to be busy. As this is planting season, his garage was filled with flowers ready to go into planters and vegetables for his many jars of beets and pickles that he canned every year. John and Charlene had many good years spent filling up the bird feeders and feeding squirrels along with all the flowers around the yard. They also enjoyed bus tours, rummage sales, and selling his hand painted saw blades. He was a wonderful caregiver to Charlene in her final years and now they are together again.
Mighty Fine was also a pit crew member for Ray Bohlander Racing Team. He enjoyed sports, especially the Packers, Brewers, and the Bucks. He was also a member of the R.A.T. Club Tractor Club. John also enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing, and spearing. He was a founding member of the Field and Stream Sportsman Club. He was also a member of the Slinger VFW Post #3358 and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Rubicon.
John is survived by his children, Shelly (Duey) Valle of Pickford, MI, Fran Feucht of Idaho, Patti (Scott) Wells of Brownsville, Tina ‘Charlene’ (K.R. Holden) Feucht of Euless, TX, Jeni (Dennis) Oechsner of Brownsville; step-children, Denien Jensen of Texas and Cynthia (Timothy) Hill of Hartford; his grandchildren, Brad Valle, Nicole (Justin) Prenevost, Daniel (Jessica) Feucht, David (Ashley) Feucht, Jessica (Chris) Siple, Travis Wells, Melissa (Luke) Riehbrandt, Tanya (Landon) Schoenmann, and Kendra (Trever) Apfelbeck; his step-grandchildren, Bobby (Alissa LaCross) Lindemann and Amanda (Brian) Seniuk.; his 11 great-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter; his siblings, Caroline Sternat, Norbert (Louise) Feucht, Jerome (Ruthie) Feucht, Clarence (Sharon) Feucht, and Clem (Elaine) Feucht; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charlene; daughter-in-law, Brenda Cramer; step-grandson, Mitch Lindemann; brother-in-law, Nubby Sternat; and a brother in infancy.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial for John will take place on Saturday, June 11, at 1 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Rubicon with the Rev. Fr. Rick Stoffel presiding. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will take place at St. John Cemetery in Rubicon with military honors to be conducted by the Slinger VFW Zunker Held #3358.
