Sally Emaline (Margelowsky) Martinson

Sally Emaline (Margelowsky) Martinson, 79, of Mayville, was called home on July 3, 2022, at Waupun Memorial Hospital in Waupun.
Sally was born in Harford, to Walter and Amanda Margelowsky on September 20, 1942.
In March of 1981, she was united in marriage to Darwin A. Martinson.
Sally worked as a CNA for many years and later worked at Affiliated Products in Mayville until her retirement.
She loved playing card games and a board game called ‘Sequence’, but Sally especially loved a family favorite called ‘Liverpool rummy’, for which she was a fierce competitor. She was an avid viewer of the Game Show Network, adored her Hallmark Movies (the sappy ones and the mysteries!), and of course we can’t forget her eternal love of the great John Wayne and Western movies.
Sally is survived by her children, Lori (Don) McLester of Oneida, Robert (Jean) Loehrke of Theresa, and Lisa Braun of Mayville; her 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces and nephews, and extended family members through marriage. She is further survived by her brother, John (Marlene) Margelowsly; her special friend, Robert “Bob” Sumnicht; Bob’s five children and their families who were very important to her; and her cherished friend of many years, Linda Steffan.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darwin; brothers, Wallace, Kenneth, and James Margelowsky; her best friends, a.k.a. sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Marvin Kluge; as well as nephews and nieces, Wayne, Kurt, Terry, Todd, Cheri, Kim; and great-granddaughter, Courtney.
She was further preceded in death by her in-laws, Ruth and Fritz Zastrow, Gordon and Delores Loehrke, and their son, Ted.
Visitation for Sally was held at Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville on Friday, July 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services followed at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 1 p.m. with Reverend Richard Collier officiating. Interment took place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hartford.
Sally had a big heart and shared her love with a great many people. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Sally’s family would like to thank Roy (transit driver at Waupun Christian Home) for taking her to all her appointments and treating her like she was part of his family; and also her beloved caregiver, Val (Waupun Christian Home) for always taking that extra time and treating her like a friend.
