David “Dave” T. Ehlers
David “Dave” T. Ehlers, 60, passed away on January 24, 2025, with his family at his side.
On October 16, 1964, in Beaver Dam, the world welcomed Dave, son of the late Delbert and Violet (née Pusch).
A proud graduate of Mayville High School’s class of 1983, Dave dedicated himself to his country with valor in the U.S. Marines.
His life took a picturesque turn on May 18, 2002, when he and Beth Peters tied the knot along the serene Wolf River in Shawano.
Dave’s journey saw him contributing to the community as a diligent inspector for the city of West Bend, while also embarking on a spiritual path in staff ministry through MLC in New Ulm, MN. A true embodiment of the rugged outdoorsman, Dave’s passion for hunting, fishing, and trapping knew no bounds. As a dedicated hunter safety instructor and karate enthusiast pursuing his second-degree black belt, he was a beacon of discipline and dedication.
A cherished member of the Field and Stream Sportsman’s Club, Dave’s love for dogs, big or small, added a heartwarming touch to his vibrant life story.
Those Dave leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife and best friend, Beth; his loving daughters, Katie (Richard) Campbell, Jeri Riner (Christopher), Vanessa (Nathan) Werner; his grandsons whom he adored and were his buddies, Killian & Flynn Campbell, Tristan Riner, and Bennett & Blake Werner; a special sister, Bonnie (Wayne) Schultz; his sister-in-law, Debra (David) Spang; brother-in-law, Roger (Ann) Peters; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends; his family at Shepherd’s Premier, especially Evelin and Tina and all of the staff; and his dear friend, Rodney.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by a stillborn brother; a brother, Jim; his parents-in-law, John and Dolores Peters.
In honor of Dave’s wishes, private family services will be held.
The family would like to thank Pastor Henning; Sharon Richardson Hospice, especially Leah, Dianna, Chaplin Joe; the volunteers at NODA; special thank you also to Evelin and Tina for your caring and compassion; Shalon and Jill for always helping us navigate Dave’s needs; and all who cared for Dave and helped in any way or said prayers – God Bless you all.
