CAMPUS NEWS —The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee at Washington County has named 108 students to the Dean’s List for the 2019 Spring semester (86 full-time and 22 parttime). These students have achieved academic success by achieving a grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Twenty-five students received Highest Honors with a GPA of 4.0 and these are noted with an asterisk. Area students making the Dean’s List are Ryan Ullius of Campbellsport; and Erica Bhatti, Ariahna Grossenbacher, Brandon Prim and Gina Taylor of Kewaskum.

Summer Reading Quest Continues At The Campbellsport Public Library Wednesday summer activities for children at the Campbellsport Public Library continues on Wednesday, June 19, with an obstacle course challenge! Mrs. Rebecca will be challenging the children to jump tall buildings in a single bound in order to help save the Earth. Everyone should come to the library dressed as a superhero to help save the day. Children ages three to six should join us at 10:30 a.m. and kids ages six and older should join us at 1 p.m. Wednesday activities are free drop-in events open to everyone.

Moraine Park Recognizes Retirees and Staff Moraine Park Technical College’s 2019 Retirement and Service Recognition event on Thursday, May 2, honored retirees and staff who have reached service anniversaries during the 2018-2019 academic year. “These individuals have been an essential part in the success of Moraine Park. They have benefited our organization and the communities that we serve,” said Bonnie Baerwald, president of Moraine Park. “This year we had 120 combined years of service from our retirees and 655 combined years from our staff members that received service recognition awards.” In all, the college recognized six retirees and 62 staff members. The retirees include Pam Erickson of Fond du Lac, student support representative; Sandy Justman of Kewaskum, contract training operations manager; Jay Peartree of Oconomowoc, fire training instructor; Steve Reinke of West Bend, building and grounds maintenance worker; Jodie Schneider of Fond du Lac, executive assistant-president’s office; Terri Wilkens of Morrison, IL, social science instructor.

A GLANCE B ACKWARD 5 Years Ago June 12, 2014 Drexel was awarded the number two Top Workplace in Wisconsin for Mid-Sized Companies. Drexel also received the top Development Award among all companies in the area. The Dundee Mill and Park got a new water wheel on May 18. The old wheel was not working. A new one was built by inmates at the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institute. All of the old steel was used, along with new cedar wood to build the wheel.
