Sharon “Smurf” M. Walter


Sharon “Smurf” M. (Murphy) Walter, 58, of Theresa found peace on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019. She was born on February 19, 1961, to her parents in Milwaukee. Sharon grew up in the Merton area and graduated from Arrowhead High School. On August 3, 1996 she was united in marriage to Kim Walter in Theresa. Together they raised their son. She was a member of the Theresa Women’s Water Barrel Team. Sharon enjoyed gardening, fishing, and going to the races. She will be missed by all who knew her. Those Sharon leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Kim Walter; her son, Harley Walter; her two sisters, Carol (Andy) Burrack and Janet (Andrew) Plumbly; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Murphy. Private family service will be held at a later date. Evelyn E. Beck (Rader), age 84 years, of Osceola was called home to be with the Lord on September 3, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born on November 12, 1934 to John and Clara Rader (Skibbie). She was united in marriage to Oliver Beck. Oliver passed away October 11, 2005. Evelyn loved watching movies and spending time with her grandson, Lucas. She also enjoyed spending time with her black lab, Bailey. Those Evelyn leaves behind to cherish her memory include her six children, Darlene Beck, Joyce (Glen) White, Harold (Jodi) Beck, Sr., Connie Meyer, Daniel Beck, and James (Rebecca) Beck; six grandchildren, Lucas Beck, Danielle White, Evelyn Griffin, Kristina Beck, Erin Beck and Harold Beck, Jr. She is further survived by her sister, Eleanore Rader; son-in-law, Corey Reichert; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Oliver; Evelyn was preceded in death by her son, Walter Beck; and her daughter, Mary Reichert. Memorial Service for Evelyn will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Myrhum Patten Miller Kietzer Funeral Home (350 Main St. – Lomira, WI 53048). Inurnment at St. Matthew’s Catholic Cemetery in Campbellsport. Evelyn’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service. Memorials to Agnesian Hospice Hope in Fond du Lac. Schultz, 72, of Lomira, passed away on Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Kathryn was born on April 18, 1947, the daughter of Guy and Vernice (Jesse) Michaels in Fond du Lac. She was a graduate of Lomira High School. On August 29, 1986, she was united in marriage to William R. Schultz at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira. She had been employed at Kondex Corp. of Lomira, Marlin Corp. of Horicon and had also bartended at Frank and Barb’s in LeRoy. Kathryn was an avid Brewers, Packers and Badger fan. She enjoyed boating and gambling. Kathryn loved to entertain and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Kathryn is survived by her children, Diane (Ed) Coulter, Duane (Darla) Buerger, Laura (Eric) Parr, Kari (Bruce) Decorah, Kimberly (Dwight) Palmer; step-children, Michael (Lori) Schultz and Angela (Mark) Hanni; 19 grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Donald) Simon; brother, Larry (Joanne) Michaels; former husband, James Buerger; her dog, Blondie; also other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William, in 2018; granddaughter, Courtney; grandson, Nicholas; and two brothers, Jim and Bill. A visitation for Kathryn will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 from 3:30 until 5:30 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville. A funeral service will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5,with the Rev. Tom Biersack officiating. Inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon at a later date. Straveler Sr., 79, of LeRoy, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019 with his loving family by his side. Eugene was born on May 29, 1940, the son of Joseph and Laura (Eastling) Straveler in Brantwood. He was a graduate of Tripoli High School. On June 17, 1961, he was united in marriage to Janette Lehner at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. Eugene had been employed with Maysteel for 40 years. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and ATVing. Eugene is survived by his children, Julie (Neil) Weiss of Iron Ridge, Eugene Straveler Jr. of West Bend, Mark (special friend Loretta) Straveler of Eden, Dean (Stefanie) Straveler of Lomira and Jamie (special friend Brandon) Straveler of LeRoy; seven grandchildren, Matt, Melissa, Amy, Tammy, Kimberly, Lindsey and Megan; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nellie Thurk of LeRoy and Josephine Schutt of New York; also other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janette in 1999, two sisters, Catherine Weisinger and Rosemary Cooley; four brothers, Norman, Joe, Ernie and Hubert. Visitation:  Friday, Sept. 6, 10 to 12 p.m.  Service:  Friday, Sept. 6, 12 p.m.  Location:  St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mayville On Saturday morning, August 31, 2019, Elizabeth “Betty Ann” Roskopf passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter, Patricia and Gerald Kohn, with her family at her side at the age of 86. Betty Ann was born on April 23, 1933, to James Heagney and Margaret Snyder Heagney in Milwaukee. Upon graduation from Divine Savior High School in 1951, she met the love of her life, Roman Roskopf. They were united in marriage on January 19, 1952, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls. Betty Ann and Roman owned and operated Romy’s Restaurant in Menomonee Falls, Roskopf Ford-Mercury of Mayville, and also farmed in the Town of Herman. Betty Ann loved quilting, crafts, and enjoyed winters in Zephyrhills, FL. During her 67-year marriage to Roman, Betty Ann and Roman raised six children, Daniel, Deborah, Jean, James, Margaret, and Patricia. Betty Ann is survived by her husband, Roman; six children, Daniel (Marsha) Roskopf, Deborah (Don) Wellnitz, Jean (David) Pieper, James (Gail) Roskopf, Margaret (Patrick) Schalinski, and Patricia (Gerald) Kohn; 15 grandchildren, Nickolas (Katey) Roskopf, Jacob (Krista) Roskopf, Eric (Alexandria) Roskopf, Adam Wellnitz, Anne Wellnitz, Zachary Pieper, Jennifer Pieper (Justin Bouchonville), Elizabeth (Marcus) Berenz, Ben (Stephanie) Roskopf, Samantha Roskopf, Michael (Shantel Magner) Schalinski, Sarah Schalinski, Kelly (John White) Kohn, Katherine (Jon) Siegler, and Caroline (Tyler Sterr) Kohn; nine great-grandchildren, Tessa, Henry, Isla, Aiden, Hadley, Genevieve, Griffin, Connor, and Lennon; a brother, Michael (Mary) Heagney; her in-laws, Anthony (Diane) Roskopf, Willard (Dolores) Roskopf, Mary Ann (Ralph) Krumbiegel, Charles Roskopf, and Dorothy Roskopf; other relatives and friends. Hanni passed away with his family at his side at the age of 63. Ken was born on April 23, 1956, in Beaver Dam, son of Harold and Delores (Schmid) Hanni. He was married to the love of his life Kate Oestreich on April 16, 1977.  They raised two sons together, Ben and Joe. Ken was a selfless father and grandfather.  He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He enjoyed trips up north to Boulder Junction and to Arizona, as well as traveling with his family and friends. Together, with his wife Kate, the two of them worked tirelessly as the owners of PS Seasoning and Pro Smoker in Iron Ridge. His work ethic and commitment to his family and businesses were admirable to all who knew him.  Ken was a honorary member of the Iron Ridge Fire Department with 45 years of service. Ken is survived by his wife, Kate Hanni; sons, Ben and Paula Hanni, Joe and Trish Hanni; grandchildren, Preston, Kennedy, and Hudson Hanni; brothers, Jeff Hanni and Mark (Angie) Hanni; brothers-in-law, Ed (Cathy) Oestreich and Scott (Heidi) Oestreich; sister-in-law, Teri Hanni Flasch; aunts, Shirley Sternweis and Doris Muche; nephew, Dan Hanni, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.  Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Delores Hanni; parents-in-law, Bill and Darlene Oestreich; brothers, Daniel Hanni and David Hanni; sister-in-law Sheryl Hanni A visitation for Kenneth will be held on Sunday Sept. 8, from noon until 3 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Pasewald, 89, of Horicon passed away on August 28, 2019, at the Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam. JoEllen was born on January 13, 1930, to Merlin and Alvina (Herbst) Dasenbrock in Dodge County. She was united in marriage to Donald Pasewald on September 11, 1948, at St. Stephen Church in Horicon. Donald preceded her in death in 1991 after 43 years of marriage. JoEllen graduated in 1947 from Horicon High School. JoEllen worked for the Weyenberg Shoe Factory in Beaver Dam and retired with 33 years. She enjoyed traveling with her friends to various locations, playing cards, and bird watching in her backyard. Most of all she loved being around her family. She was a lifelong member of St. Stephen Church in Horicon and served on the altar guild. JoEllen was a dedicated 63-year member of the Horicon American Legion Auxiliary, serving many offices and duties. JoEllen is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Bruce) Spittel of Horicon; grandchildren, Melissa Thorson of Wauwatosa, and Casey (friend Sasha Hinrichs) Spittel of Horicon; great-grandchildren, Caleb Spittel and Emma Spittel; her brother, David (Doris) Dasenbrock of Bowie, MD, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald; a sister, Marilyn Griepentrog; and a brother, Peter Dasenbrock. A visitation will take place on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at church. A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jonathan Szczesny officiating. Inurnment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon.
