David L. Coulter


David L. Coulter, age 81 years, of Kewaskum was called home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. David was born on April 23, 1938 in the Town of Wayne to David C. and Alice Coulter (nee Wilke). He was united in marriage to Barbara Bartelt on March 18, 1967 at St. John Lutheran Church New Fane. Barbara passed away on May 27, 2004. David was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane. He retired from Weasler Engineering in 2004. David enjoyed watching the Brewers and winning at the slot machines. Those David leaves behind to cherish his memory include his five children, Connie (James Korn) Coulter, David O. Coulter, James Coulter, Todd Coulter and Trisha (Aaron) Maas; two grandchildren, Mikayla and Ezekiel Maas; one step-grandson, Logan Maas; one sister, Marion Schuster; brothers-in-law, Otto (Beverly) Bartelt and Thomas Bartelt; three sisters-in-law, Janice (Rodger) Breselow, Debra (Donald) Theisen and Jean (Robert) Robrahn. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife, Barbara, David was preceded in death by an infant son, Craig Steven Coulter; nephew, Patrick Schuster; step-father, Jerome Schiller, parents-in-law, Otto C. and Lorinda Bartelt; and two brothers-in-law, Kenny Schuster and Maynard Bartelt. Funeral Service for David will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane (N683 County Rd S) with Pastor Mark Eckert officiating. Interment at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in New Fane. David’s family will greet relatives and friends at the Myrhum Patten Miller Kietzer Funeral Home (215 Forest Ave. – Kewaskum) on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visitation will continue the next day at St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane from 1 p.m. until time of service. Orville J. Ramthun

Orville J. Ramthun


Orville Ramthun, 93, of Watertown, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Oconomowoc Hospital following a brief illness. Orville Ramthun was born to Herman and Emma (Wachs) Ramthun March 24, 1926, in the family farmhouse in Eden. Orville married Lois Droz in Watertown on July 25, 1987. Orville farmed in Johnson Creek and was a proud truck driver and Teamsters Union member. He was a longtime driver for Schweiger Industries in Jefferson and retired from driving at Carnation in Oconomowoc. Orville is survived by his five children, Sandra (Richard) Wright, Huntertown, IN; Gary (Dedra) Ramthun, Johnson Creek; Dan (Karen) Ramthun, Watertown; David (Peggy) Ramthun, Palmyra, MO; and Terry Pender, Houston, TX; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife Lois, his parents, son Larry, granddaughter Jasmine and brother Norbert Ramthun. A funeral service will be Thursday, July 25, at 1 p.m. at Twohig Funeral Home in Campbellsport, with internment at Union Cemetery in Campbellsport following the service. Gerald J. Guldan


Gerald J. Guldan (Jerry) of Saukville and Jerry's Barber Shop passed away the morning of Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the age of 83. Jerry was born on December 21, 1935 to Irwin and Celeste (nee Pesch) Guldan in Lomira. He was a graduate of the Kewaskum school system before pursuing barber school in Chicago. He married Joanne Metz on April 27, 1957 and together they had four girls. Jerry's life hobbies consisted of many: Sunday pontoon-ing on Long Lake, fishing for salmon in Lake Michigan, hunting, golfing, card club and, of course, his hair cutting business, Jerry's Barber Shop. Jerry is survived by his wife Joanne, his daughters Beth (Phil Sasso), Pam, Debbie (Steve Brahm) and Meg (Tom Minette), grandkids P.J. Sasso, Isaac, Sam and Eli Brahm, Tess, Jayce and Abe Minette. Jerry is further survived by nieces and nephews Ellen, Jill, Jeff, Barbara (Bo), Amos, D.G. and Michael. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother Jerome Guldan and his nephew Rick Guldan. A Funeral Service for Jerry was held at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 22, 2019 at Eernisse Funeral Home (1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington, WI 53074) with Deacon Tom Surges presiding. Visitation was held at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Gerald will be laid to rest at St. Mathias Cemetery in New Fane, WI. Barbara A. Barnish


Barbara A. Barnish (Hendrix), 78, of Horicon passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at UW Hospital in Madison. Barbara was born the daughter of Robert and Alice (Driggs) Hendrix on November 1, 1940, in Moline, IL. She was a 1958 graduate of Horicon High School and then went on to receive a degree in sociology from Carrol College. She was first united in marriage to Arthur E. Irwin until his passing in 1965. She then married Merton Barnish in 1975. In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed golfing, bowling, knitting, and tending to her garden. She also volunteered with children in the Horicon School District. Barbara is survived by her children, Penny (Dave) Irwin of West Bend, Tom Irwin of Horicon, and Christy Barnish of Oshkosh; her brothers, John Hendrix of Ottumwa, IA, and Tom Hendrix of Miami Lakes, FL; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Arthur, and her nephew, Johnny Hendrix. Visitation took place on Monday, July 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the fKoepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Horicon. Funeral services for Barbara were held on Monday, July 22, at 3 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Horicon with the Rev. Sandra Schieble officiating. Betty Lou Tighe


Betty Lou Tighe, 74, formerly of Mayville, died on Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida. The former Betty Lou Wendt was born on July 24, 1944, in Fond du Lac, to Rhinold A. and Margaret (Karus) Wendt. She graduated from Horicon High School in 1963. Betty worked for John Deere in Horicon from 1967 until 1984. She always had a determined mindset and gave it her all in anything she chose to do. She was very talented when it came to music and was able to play several instruments. Betty owned and operated a clothing store above the Breeze Inn in Mayville for a number of years before making her home in Florida. While in Florida, she started the business Lake Worth Hearing Center. Betty is survived by her sister, Barbara Wendt of Watertown; brother, Rhinold (Annette) Wendt of Antioch, IL; nieces, Michelle (Jim) Fronsee of Eagle, and Corrine (Lenny) Raupp of Rio; family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. The visitation was held at Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville on Monday, July 22, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon. Pastor Sara Gillespie officiated and burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Mayville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Betty Lou Tighe’s name to a charity of choice. Steven S. Bonlender


Steven S. Bonlender, 63, went home to heaven where they need help with the farm fields Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Kathy Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer with his beloved family gathered with him. He was born December 5, 1955, in Fond du Lac, the son of Harold E. and Eileen A. (Steger) Bonlender. On September 30, 1978, Steve married Mary Lou M. Fell at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Ashford. Steve was employed at Kasten Mfg, drove milk truck, spent 25 years as a foreman/operating engineer for Michels Corporation and worked for many farmers throughout his life. He had a passion for farming and enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, snowmobiling, bowling, ATVing, tractor pulls and farm auctions. Most important to Steve was time spent with family and friends, especially his five granddaughters. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Lou; son, Rick (Ashley) Bonlender and their daughters, Sierrah, Kennedy and Holland, daughter, Krystle (Adam) Helsell and their daughters, Mackenzie and Libbie; siblings, Darlene (Allen) Werkmeister, Loren (Gail) Bonlender, Sharon (Dennis) Hundt and Mary B. (Joseph) Spaeth; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Fell, Donald Fell, Randall (Tina) Fell and Gordon (Robin) Fell; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and infant sister, Rita. Visitation will be Saturday, July 20, beginning at 9 a.m. until time of Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main St., Kewaskum. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 20, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Jana Kay Mallon, 45, of Burnett, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2019. Jana was born on November 20, 1973, in Waupun to Bernard and Janice Schmitz. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Burnett. She attended school in Horicon and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Marian University. On April 18, 1998, she was united in marriage to Robert Mallon at Zion Lutheran Church in Burnett. They were blessed with two children, Hunter and Cassie. Jana worked as a registered nurse for 24 years both at Beaver Dam Community Hospitals and Watertown Regional Medical Center. She has been with Hillside Home Care and Hospice for the past three and a half years. Jana’s motto was to treat each patient as if they were a member of herfamily. Janawas also involved in her community as a Burnett First Responder and a Sunday school teacher. Jana is survived by her loving husband, Bob of Burnett. She is also survived by her children, Hunter and Cassie, at home; her parents, Bernard and Janice Schmitz of Burnett, as well as her mother-inlaw, Sharon Mallon of Horicon and her sisterin- law, Robin (Kari) Mallon of Wind Lake; her siblings, Karl (Kelly) Schmitz of Burnett, Janelle (Heath) Fishbaugher of Markesan, Bill (Christine) Schmitz of Horicon, Chris (Molly) Schmitz of Poynette, Jenny (Derrick) Weinberger of Burnett as well as nieces and nephews, Julianna and Nathan Fishbaugher and Lily, Jack, Jase, and Jacob Schmitz. Jana was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harvey and Maxine Thiede and Walter and Anna Schmitz; aunt, Dorothy Pautsch, and father-in-law, Robert F. Mallon. The visitation was at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, July 17, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. There was also a visitation at Zion Lutheran Church in Burnett on July 18, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Tim Sallach and Rev. Dan Seehafer officiated. Burial followed at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton. Memorials may be directed to Hillside Hospice of Beaver Dam, the Burnett First Responders, or the UW Carbone Cancer Center. Debra A. Koontz


Debra Ann Koontz (nee Neckuty), 60, of Fond du Lac formerly of Campbellsport, passed away unexpectedly in her home on July 10, 2019. Debra was born on August 13, 1958, the daughter of the late John and Elaine Neckuty (nee Tomlinson). Debra graduated from Campbellsport High School in 1972. She worked for many years at All About life. Debra enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and watching wrestling along with watching her grandson wrestle. She was a longtime Packer fan and loved sitting outside, cookouts, and playing cards and dominos. Debra also loved the ID Channel. Those left behind to cherish Debra’s memory include her fiancé, Michael Smith; her four children, John (Amanda) Koontz, Angela (Cecelia) Koontz, Tanya Hoffmann, and Shawn (Kendra) Koontz, all of Fond du Lac; nine grandchildren, Jerrell, Brianna, Angel, Katie, Jacob, Tasha, Thomas, Zander, and Mia. She is further survived by her sister, Kathy Mamerow of Waupun; her brother, Joseph Neckuty of Campbellsport; her lifelong friend, Cheryl (Larry) Hartfiel of Fond du Lac, and many relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Mark Mamerow; nephew, Andy Mamerow; and her cat, Oreo (AKA Fat Cat). A time of gathering was held on Monday, July 15, 2019 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Ave Fond du Lac, WI. 54935.
