Elizabeth L. Raether

Elizabeth L. “Betty” Raether, 88, of Kewaskum, passed away on July 15, 2023, at Kettle Moraine Gardens with her family at her side. Betty was born on June 5, 1935, in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Carl and Grace (nee Riske) Podskarbi. On June 16, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ralph Raether Sr. at Grace Lutheran Church in Kenosha. Ralph preceded Betty in death on August 3, 2007.Betty was employed by Regal Ware in Kewaskum for 30 plus years. Betty spent her life in Kewaskum until retiring in 1992 and moved to their home in Millston, Wisconsin. She returned to Kewaskum in 2007 after the passing of her husband, Ralph. She enjoyed traveling around the state, vacations in Eagle River with family, snowmobiling, playing cards, spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed a game of cards with “the lads” in Millston as well as with her lady friends. Above all else, Betty enjoyed spending time with her children and grand - children. She was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum.Those Betty leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, Grace Giese (nee Raether), Carl (Renee) Raether, Mark (Marion) Raether, and Ralph Jr. (Gina) Raether; 12 grandchildren, Candice (Michael) MacFarlane, Bridget (Andrew) Canales, Brandon (Jen) Giese, Jess Seichter, Karee (Nick) Benzing, Taylor Raether, Briana Raether (Adam Waala), Hailey Raether, Sam Raether (Anna Peter - son), Ralph Raether III, Dylan Raether, and Mason Raether; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother, Ellsworth (Marion) Podskarbi; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grand children; other relatives and friends.Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Grace Podskarbi; her husband of 51 years, Ralph Raether Sr.; a brother, Carl Podskarbi Jr.; along with other loved relatives.A Celebration of Life will be held at River Hill Park in Kewaskum (located right by Hon-E-Kor), on Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.The family would like to thank Angie, Jenni, and the entire staff at Kettle Moraine Gardens for their outstanding care of our mother and support of our family.The Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service has been entrusted with Betty’s arrangements. Joyce C. Heller (Uelmen) of West Bend, formerly of Kewaskum, was called home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born on October 22, 19-'something-or-other' to Frank and Alice Uelmen (Bath). She was united in marriage to Joseph W. “Joe” Heller on October 10, 1970, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.Joyce enjoyed visiting wineries in Wisconsin, especially Woolersheim Winery near Prairie Du Sac. She worked at Amity Leather for many years. Joyce was an avid Ford Mustang enthusiast having owned several in her lifetime; however, she was the only one allowed to drive the 2015 Convertible. Most of all, Joyce loved her family, and dedicated her life to her husband and two sons.Those Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 52 years, Joe; two sons, Brian (Anna) Heller and Scott (Nicole) Heller; two grandchildren, Emmerson and Beckham; and sister, Bonnie Uelmen.    Lloyd Glenn Kam­rath, 76, of Mayville, passed away peace­fully on Mon­day, July 17, 2023, with his beloved wife, Bon­nie, at his side, at St. Mary’s Hos­pi­tal in Madi­son.   Lloyd was born the son of Hilbert and Elvira (Kuehl) Kam­rath on Oc­to­ber 28, 1946. He grew up on a small fam­ily farm out­side of Mayville, which in­stilled in him an in­cred­i­ble work ethic, love for the out­doors, and strong be­lief in faith, fam­ily, and friends. He was af­fec­tion­ately known as “Sonny” by his par­ents. Lloyd was united in mar­riage to his beloved Bon­nie Jean Schultz on Au­gust 18, 1973, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Neosho. To­gether, they would work their own dairy farm, build a fam­ily, and cel­e­brate nearly 50 years of mar­riage.   Lloyd was an in­cred­i­bly de­voted hus­band, fa­ther, grand­fa­ther, and an amaz­ing ex­am­ple of hard work and quiet de­ter­mi­na­tion. Lloyd worked all his life to pro­vide for his wife, chil­dren, and grand­kids as a dairy farmer and, later in life, a metal fin­isher. He loved spend­ing time on the front porch with his wife, Bon­nie, lis­ten­ing to the “barn show” or Bob Uecker call­ing a Brew­ers game while look­ing at his well-main­tained lawn, marigolds, petu­nias, and rose bushes. He was an in­cred­i­bly tal­ented and ath­letic cross-coun­try run­ner be­fore grad­u­at­ing from Mayville High School in 1965. He will be re­mem­bered for his love of lemon torte, lemon bars, rasp­berry torte, re­ally any dessert, chicken spread, Amer­ica’s Fun­ni­est Home Videos, a Fri­day night fish fry, polka danc­ing, and a whiskey old fash­ioned. He loved Wis­con­sin sports teams, at­tend­ing hun­dreds of his kids and grand­kids sport­ing events, mu­si­cals, plays, tak­ing his grand­kids fish­ing on his boat, and play­ing sheepshead with his close cir­cle of friends. We will never for­get his jolly laugh, big heart, and will­ing­ness to give any mem­ber of his fam­ily the shirt off his back or last dol­lar in his wal­let. He was often a man of few words, but al­ways able to show his chil­dren and grand­chil­dren they were deeply loved with a sim­ple hug or a few words of en­cour­age­ment.    Lloyd is sur­vived by his wife, Bon­nie, of Mayville; four chil­dren, Joel (Chris) Kam­rath of Wa­ter­town, Jamey Kam­rath and Cleo Mueller (spe­cial friend) of Mayville, Benji (Melinda) Kam­rath of Wa­ter­town and Nicole (Adam) Oestre­ich of Mayville; 10 grand­chil­dren, Alexus, Han­nah, Colin, Brae­dyn, Pax­ton, Reece, Olivia, Brevon, Nahla, Sul­ley; his sis­ter, Kris (Jeff) Jaster of Theresa; as well as other rel­a­tives and friends.   He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, Hilbert and Elvira Kam­rath and his sis­ter, Diane Kam­rath.   Fu­neral ser­vices for Lloyd will be held at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville on Sat­ur­day, July 22, at 12 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Mark G. Cut­ler of­fi­ci­at­ing. Barbara A. Kornely

   Barabara A. Ko­r­nely, 77, of Fox Lake, died on Tues­day, July 11, 2023, at St. Mary’s Hos­pi­tal in Madi­son.   Bar­bara Ann was born on Sep­tem­ber 30, 1945, in Chicago, Illi­nois, to Al­fred and Martha (Schwake) Schellin. While grow­ing up on her par­ents' farm in Mayville, she was very ac­tive in 4H and prob­a­bly won many Blue Rib­bons for her cloth­ing en­tries at the Dodge County Fair. Barb helped her dad on the farm with var­i­ous farm chores, earn­ing the name “Bobby” from her Dad.   Barb was the vale­dic­to­rian of her class at Mayville High School in 1963, and she fur­thered her ed­u­ca­tion with a bach­e­lor’s de­gree in Home Eco­nom­ics from Stout State Uni­ver­sity in 1967. She was rec­og­nized for Who’s Who in Amer­ica’s Col­leges and Uni­ver­si­ties for her par­tic­i­pa­tion in the stu­dent ed­u­ca­tion as­so­ci­a­tion, as a copy ed­i­tor of the Stou­ton­ian col­lege news­pa­per, the sec­re­tary of the Home Eco­nom­ics Club, an ed­i­tor-re­porter of Phi Ep­silon Omi­cron, and pub­lic­ity chair­per­son of Women’s Recre­ation As­so­ci­a­tion. Barb also par­tic­i­pated in 4H Club and Lutheran As­so­ci­a­tion.   Barb was united in mar­riage with Lee Ko­r­nely on Jan­u­ary 21, 1967, in Mayville. To­gether, they owned and op­er­ated Ko­r­nely’s Craft and Hobby Cen­ter in Beaver Dam for 49 years. Barb taught cook­ing and sewing classes at Moraine Park Tech­ni­cal Col­lege for sev­eral years, and taught at the Ju­nior High school in Baron for a year.   She loved to read, craft, cook, paint and spend­ing time in the gar­den. Barb had a unique abil­ity to learn new crafts, so she could pass this knowl­edge to oth­ers. She shared her love of craft­ing with count­less peo­ple over the years.   Barb was ac­tive in the Beaver Dam Cham­ber of Com­merce and was pres­i­dent of the Woman’s Af­fil­i­ate in 1985, and was a board mem­ber for ACCI (As­so­ci­ated Cre­ative Craft In­dus­tries).   Barb is sur­vived by her hus­band, Lee of Fox Lake; chil­dren, Sara (Ken) Fi­rari of Low­ell, Mark Ko­r­nely of Beaver Dam, and Todd (Saman­tha) Ko­r­nely of Lit­tle Torch Key, FL; grand­chil­dren, Blaiz Fi­rari, Con­nor Ko­r­nely, and An­drew Ko­r­nely; sib­lings, Diane (Ken) Kanzen­bach, Melvin (Brenda) Schellin, and Jean (Den­nis) Buss; nieces and nephews; other rel­a­tives and friends.   She was pre­ceded in death by her par­ents; sis­ter, Car­olyn Dehler; and brother, Don­ald Schellin.   The memo­r­ial gath­er­ing will be at Koepsell-Mur­ray Fu­neral Home in Beaver Dam on Fri­day, July 21, from 10 a.m. until noon. The memo­r­ial ser­vice will fol­low at the fu­neral home on Fri­day at noon with Rev. Jim Wendt of­fi­ci­at­ing.   We would like to thank the staff at the Colum­bus ER, and spe­cial thanks to Saint Mary’s doc­tors, nurses and hos­pice staff for mak­ing Barb’s jour­ney into heaven a peace­ful one. Brian Charles King

Brian Charles “Kinger” King, 48, an enthusiastic and supportive husband, father, son, brother and friend to many, passed away peacefully at his home in Oak Creek on Friday July 7, 2023. He was surrounded by his brothers, sons, mother and loving wife following a 25-month battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme, an aggressive type of stage 4 brain cancer. His wife, Brenda, was honored to be his wife and best friend, in sickness and in health. Brian means “strong, virtuous and honorable”, which are words that have been used to describe Brian over the past two years, if not his entire life. He was known for hosting many backyard fires and being the last to leave a party, and he believed that “the more the merrier”, never wanting to leave anyone out of a gathering. Brian was born on October 5, 1974, in Fond du Lac and raised on the “North Slope” of Eden. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Grade School in Eden, a 1993 graduate of Campbellsport High School and graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Brian loved sports from his early days in little league which included basketball, baseball, football and track & field throughout high school, and he continued playing basketball at MSOE during his college years. As an adult, Brian’s athletic passion turned to golfing and coaching his boys in baseball and basketball. He absolutely loved coaching and was so proud of his sixth grade Wauwatosa Catholic School basketball team when they won the league championship in 2017. Brian achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America while in high school and he passed his love for scouting along to his sons. He was Cubmaster of Cub Scout Pack 109 in Milwaukee and Cub Scout Pack 221 in Oak Creek and he took much pride in making each meeting productive and meaningful for the boys. Throughout his engineering career, Brian worked at Unit Drop Forge, Impact Engineering Solutions, Bucyrus International, Caterpillar and most recently Snap-on Tools, where he received one patent and has several others pending. Brian truly enjoyed working as an engineer and was so disappointed when his cancer progressed and he was no longer able to work. Brian’s proudest accomplishment was his family and his boys brought him so much joy. While his illness slowed him down quite a bit, it reminded us what is truly important and he spent the last two years taking trips with friends and giving his loved ones the gift of many great memories to cherish forever. Brian is survived by his wife of almost 22 years, Brenda (Fritz) King; children, Isaac, Owen and Aidan; mother, Virginia (Gross) King; brothers, Mark King, Timothy King and wife, Sara (Schrauth) King, his twin brother, Kevin King and wife, Miriah (Thompson) King. He is further survived by his parents-in-law, Mike and Kathy (Smith) Fritz; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael and Amy Fritz, and Colleen and Joel Nelson; and 11 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Stephen Jerome (Jerry) King; niece, Sarah Sue King; and nephew, Thomas Michael Nelson. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023 (with an opportunity for memory sharing at 7 p.m.) at Heritage Funeral Home, 9200 S. 27th Street, Oak Creek, WI 53154. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 9303 S. Chicago Road, Oak Creek, WI and interment to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park, 3301 Forest Hill Avenue, Oak Creek. Brian was passionate about his boys’ education so memorials may be made to the family to further their education. Brian was always so gracious in thanking his providers at each visit and his family is so thankful for the amazing care from the teams of doctors, nurses and Vitas Healthcare staff and the support and love of so many friends and relatives who helped his family navigate the last two years. Life may end, but love does not. May his memory always make us smile.

Adrian “80” Carlos Geiger

Adrian “80” Carlos Geiger

   Adrian "80" Carlos Geiger, lifelong resident of Theresa, passed away at the age of 75 at his home on June 24, 2023.    "80" was born in Madison to Albert and Anita (Pahnke) Geiger.    "80" grew up in Theresa and attended Theresa Public School and Mayville High School, graduating in 1966. After graduation, he started employment at the Gehl Company in West Bend. He worked there for 39 years until the Gehl Company ended production. He also worked for the SooLine Railroad and the Dodge County Housing as a maintenance man.    "80" and his wife bought and operated, along with their three children, "The Mart," on main street Theresa for numerous years. Fond memories were made for many people at "The Mart." He and his wife also bought a bar on main street Theresa, which was well known as "The Bear's Den," "Mark's Get-A-Way," "Fred's Garage," "Paliden's" and a few others. "80" was always searching for his next endeavour.    On November 25, 1967, "80" married Mary A. Klumpjan. They lived almost 56 years together, raising three model children, whom became his pride and joy.    He and his wife enjoyed many travels, including Hawaii (numerous times), Alaska, Mexico, Jamaica, Las Vegas, casino trips and many more.    "80" is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; his three children, Jill Geiger Firehammer - husband, Mike, Rick Geiger - wife, Terri Budahn Geiger, and Chad Geiger - wife, Laura Jewson Geiger; "Papa" to nine grandchildren whom he loved and was so proud of beyond words, Cindy Geiger Bottine - husband, Jeremy, Nick Geiger - wife, Ali Wittchow Geiger, Andrea Geiger - friend, Weston DeKoning, Natalie Geiger Wondra - husband, Dustin, Crystal Geiger, Nadean Geiger - friend, Drake Fleischman, Cole Geiger, Lacey Firehammer and Trent Vielbig; "Great Papa" to four great-grandchildren, Jaxon Bottine, Payton Bottine, Jaiden Firehammer and Trinity Firehammer. He is further survived by two brothers, one sister, three sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.    "80" was preceded in death by his father, Albert; his loving mother, Anita; his father-in-law and mother-in-law; and his precious great-grandchild of 45 days, his little angel, Alayna Bottine.    Remember "80" as a "go to man," a "Jack of all trades," a "fixer of everything," and mostly a loving husband, father, and especially a loving "Papa" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.    Playing poker with his family and enjoying "salted in the shell peanuts" on the picnic table by the river were his special times. Per "80"s request, no visitation or funeral.  A private burial will be at a later date.

Ruth E. Taylor (nee Hutson), 78, from Neshkoro (formerly of Kewaskum) passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2023. She was born on November 16, 1944, to the late Donald and Pearl (nee Reese) Hutson in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Ruth grew up in Oklahoma until moving to Menomonee Falls, where she graduated High School. On May 28, 1966, she was united in marriage to Richard Taylor. She worked in finance, insurance, and banking as an administrative assistant for many years until retirement. She and Richard moved to Neshkoro in 2003. Ruth never knew a stranger, and enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. In her home, all were welcome, “the more the merrier”, and you didn’t leave without a hug. She looked forward to relaxing boat rides with Richard and enjoying their time together. Raymond L. Eggers, 95, of Fond du Lac, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Harbor Haven. He was born on February 16, 1928, in Dundee, a son of the late George and Adeline Eggers (nee Reese). Ray proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. After he was honorably discharged, Ray became an Accountant and worked at many places, including Milwaukee Bookkeeping, the State of Wisconsin as an Auditor, and Precision Accounting and Tax Service. He enjoyed drinking a Martini, attending parties, and spending time with his family. Ray was knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly generous. He summed up his life perfectly with his last words, “It’s been a sweet ride.”Those left behind to cherish his memory are many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephew; his brother-in-law, Randall Drew, and his sister-in-law, Joan Eggers.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Drew; his brother, Jack Eggers; and his brothers-in-law, Elroy Backhaus and Reynold Drew.Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will take place at St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Campbellsport.Memorials are appreciated to the Fond du Lac Humane Society.Ray’s family thanks Harbor Haven and SSM Hospice for their care and support.Twohig Funeral Home is serving the family with online guestbook and condolences at www.twohigfunerals.com.

Bernard J. Brown

Bernard J. “Buddy” Brown passed away at his home Saturday, July 1, 2023, with his loving wife, Barbara, and oldest son, Pat, by his side. On March 27, 1931, Buddy was born to Clement and Frances (Flitter) Brown during a snow storm. The doctor and midwife traveled to their Dundee home by horse drawn sleigh and had to stay the entire night. He was the oldest sibling to Leo, Joan, David, and Monica. Buddy attended a one room school in Dundee, graduating from Campbellsport High School in 1950. Following graduation, he joined the Army Air Corp planning to be a paratrooper. After being injured in a jump, Buddy served his remaining time in Stuttgart, Germany. In October of 1956, he married Marilyn Weiland at St. Kilian Catholic Church. Together they had five children. In June of 1996, he married Barbara Kode (Ravenscraft) at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Armstrong and gained four additional children Buddy had numerous careers during his lifetime, including working for Asplundh Tree Trimming, Gehl Company, and Regal Ware. He later owned Club 49 and ended his career working at Tom’s Millwork and as a Correctional Officer at Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting. He once spent six weeks in Alaska backpacking on horseback with several Native Americans. He made several trips to Alaska to hunt Kodiak bear. He raised several bears himself and had two deer farms. He especially loved being up north at his home near Hurley. Buddy was a proud member of the American Legion, VFW Post 8339 (past president), and the Knights of Columbus. Buddy survived by his wife, Barbara; his brother David Brown; his children, Pat (Lynn) Brown, Lisa (Eugene) Hau, Dan (Kelli Ebert) Brown, Molly (Tim) Schill, and Bernadette (Bruce) Biller; his special granddaughter, Amanda Brown; his step-children, Kimberly (Scott) Sutton, Rob (Renee) Kode, Brenda Kode, and Stacy Kode; grandchildren, Adon Brown, Beau, Brian, Brendan, and Bruce Jr. Biller, Emily and Evan Sutton, Hailey, Jackson, Landon and Avery Kode, Kyla, Heather, and Jessie Kode, and Zachary, Tanner, Hunter, Tony, and Elleigh Kode; and great-grandchildren. Buddy is further survived by many family members and friends, including Mary Bowe; Larry Brown; Chris Liebich; Val O’Laughlin and her daughters, Kaili, Rachel, and Leah; Vicki Stoffel and her daughter, Audra; Julie Brown; Lori Wilhelms; Wayne and Marion Elsinger, and Jake and Theresia Webel. He is also survived by his former spouse, Marilyn Brown. Bernard was preceded in death by his parents, Clem and Frances, as well as three siblings and their spouses: Leo and Carol Brown, Joan and Dick Becker, Monica and Mike Lavey; and sister-in-law, Katherine Brown. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 12 p.m .until 3 p.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County Road B, Eden, WI. 53019. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 3 p.m. at the Church with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Dundee will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, Trinity Lutheran Church, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
