Joyce E. Herriges


Joyce E. Herriges (nee Butt), age 88 years, of the town of Auburn was called home to be with the Lord on January 6, 2022, at Cedar Community Assisted Living in West Bend surrounded by her loving family.Joyce was born on June 6, 1933, in Cedarburg to Gerhard and Desta Butt (nee Boesch). Joyce graduated from Cedarburg High School. After graduation, her family moved to St. Michaels, where they ran St. Michaels Tavern for 49 years. It was there Joyce met the love of her life, Donald Herriges. They were united in marriage on January 22, 1955, at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Town of Scott after his return from the service.Joyce was a homemaker raising five children and caring for two grandchildren. Later she was employed at Rosenheimer’s and BC Ziegler. After her mother’s death, Joyce and Don operated St. Michael’s Tavern until it was sold. Joyce shared countless hours at Shawano Lake making memories with family and friends and becoming a “professional” fisherwoman. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, baking and playing board games and cards, especially Sheepshead and Canasta.Those Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, James (Mary Pierce), Gayla (Dale) Maas, Thomas (Lisa), Lynelle (Martin) Morse; seven grandchildren, Randy (Kim) Narbatovics, Melisa (Chris) Winkler, Matthew, Christopher (Melanie), Patrick (Amber) Pierce, Heather (Brad) Oelhafen, and Andy (Rachel) Maas; 16 great-grand-children, Morgan and Jake Denlinger, Natalie Narbatovics, William and Wade Winkler, Asah and Cory Hoddel-Pierce, Porter and Ashton Pierce, Matthew and Zachary Oelhafen, James, Jayson, Joel, and Jakob Maas, and honorary great-grandchild, Sonny Duchow; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clemence (Edith), Jerry (Fran), Kathleen (William) Muldoon, Evelyn Marshall, and Andrew, plus many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; daughter, Janine Alvarez; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerome (Rosalie), Joe (Ethel), Sylvester, Lucina Kolb, Frank (Ione), Albert (Sandra), Raymond (Arlene), Rita Speth, and Joyce Herriges.A memorial service in remembrance of Joyce was held on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 4 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church – New Fane, N683 County Rd. Michelle M. Compton


EDEN - Michelle M. Compton, 58, Green Bay, formerly of Eden, passed away January 5th, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. She was born April 2, 1963, daughter to Dale and Janice Geogia Delahaut. On July 10th, 1992 she married Dennis Compton. Together they moved from Green Bay to Eden in 1991. Michelle's enjoyment in life were her six grandchildren, all of her nieces and nephews, her dogs, camping, boating, swimming, tubing, fishing, four wheeling, music and concerts, movies, puzzles and games, Birthdays and Christmas time with the family.Cremation has taken place and Entombment at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.Funeral and cremation services were handled by Hansen Family Funeral & Cremation Services of Green Bay.A celebration of life will be held on a later date and location TBD for the immediate family.

Orville “Orv” J. Jaeger, 85, of Fond du Lac, died with his family by his side, on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on June 8, 1936, in the Town of Ashford, the son of Jerome and Anna Croell Jaeger. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force from 1955-1958, serving in the military police. Orv donated a kidney to his brother, Bud Jaeger, in 1967.Orv established Ironsides Battery, and was the owner/operator of Fond du Lac Express from 1992 – present. He was a Scout Master from 1968 – 1974 in Fond du Lac. He was a member of Holy Family Parish – Presentation Church of North Fond du Lac, where he sang in the church choir. He belonged to the Fond du Lac Yacht Club, Eagle’s Aerie #270 and B.P.O.E. Orv enjoyed boating, riding his motorcycle, loved music, bowling and sponsored many softball teams. He loved spending time with his family and eating ice cream.He is survived by his children: Diana Granger of Fountain Inn, SC, Denise McKay of Hiawassee, GA, Richard (special friend Cari) Jaeger of Forsyth, MO, Voleta (Hans) Buzhardt of Warner Robins, GA, Andrea (Bruce) Keeble of Mount Juliet, TN and James (Jenny) Jaeger of North Fond du Lac; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and his sister Delores Miller of Ladoga.He is preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.Visitation: Friends called from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Presentation Catholic Church, 705 Michigan Ave, North Fond du Lac.Service: Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Presentation Catholic Church.In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to The National Kidney Foundation.Kurki Funeral Chapel & Crematory is serving the family, on-line guestbook can be found at www.kurkifuneralchapel.com. 920-921-4420.

Stella Marie Ludwig


Stella Marie (Lichtensteiger) Ludwig, 91, of Kewaskum was called home to be with her Lord, while surrounded by her family on January 9, 2022. She was born on June 27, 1930, to the late Herman and Elizabeth (McEnroe) Lichtensteiger. On July 10, 1948, she married the love of her life, Elton W. Ludwig. The two of them started work - ing at Regal Ware in Kewaskum on the same day; 43 years later they retired together.Stella enjoyed sewing and mending for her family. She loved playing Sheepshead. Stella was also fond of making trips to casinos, whether nearby or in Las Vegas. She spent her free time refinishing furniture and canning. After retirement, she cherished the time she spent baby-sitting her grandchildren and great-grand children. She was a longtime member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Kewaskum.Those left behind to embrace her memories include her daughter Karen, (David) Schaub of Kewaskum; son, Billie Ludwig of Newburg; daughter, Connie (Frank) Gasner of Kewaskum; daughter-in-law, Pam Ludwig of Campbellsport; grandchildren, Michelle (Ryan) Schiefelbein, Tracy (Steven) Lightfoot, Denise Bergseth (Brad), Kelli (Joe) Eberhardt and Ashley Harris (Jason); great-grandchildren, Michael, Zachary, Carolanne, Lindsay, Cailey, Bret, Christopher, Brayden, Austyn, Stella, Ashton and Caden; great-great-grandchildren, Sakura, Mason, Madyson and Grayson; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and tail wagging friends.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Elton Ludwig; her son, Vernon Ludwig; grandson, Jody Ludwig; two brothers, six sisters, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.Visitation was held Wednesday, January 12, from 2 to 5 p.m. at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Dr., Kewaskum. Followed by Funeral Services at 5 pm at the Church. Rev. Timothy Henning officiated. Arnold A. Baumhardt, 76, of the Town of Eden, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.He was born on July 3, 1945, the son of Adolph “Schnick” and Orma (nee Capelle) Baumhardt. He was a graduate of Campbellsport High School.Arnie farmed on the family farm in the Town of Eden, and later worked for several area farmers including Dave Kreif. He enjoyed hunting and watching many sporting events especially football and baseball. Arnie was also a train enthusiast going to many model train shows and visiting train museums. Arnie enjoyed socializing in Eden; one of his favorite spots was 2fers Gametime Retreat.Survivors include special friends, Dave and Janell Kreif and Corey Mueller, and many other friends and relatives.Arnie was preceded in death by his parents Schnick and Orma.Arnie will be cremated and a graveside service will be held in the Spring at Empire Cemetery where Arnie will be buried with his parents.A special thank you to Bob Meier for all that he did for Arnie over the years.Twohig Funeral Home is serving the family with online guestbook and condolences at www.twohigfunerals.com

Alain Fougere

Alain Fougere


 Alain Fougere was born in Paris, France, on December 14, 1937.   He came to the U.S. with his mother and step-father at 17 years of age after the war.   He worked as a courier on a bike, having a great sense of direction in New York City. He became a gifted photographer taught by his step-father. Later he was employed as a photo finisher working computer programs for the machines and building photo developing systems. He did many wedding and special occasion photos. His photo finishing business brought him to Wisconsin. He resided in Hustisford with his wife Maggie until she preceded him in death in 2000.   After retirement, he did much volunteer work for Dodge County Special Olympics and ARC Dodge County. He was helper, companion, travel buddy and life partner to Dona Fritzel from 2007 to the present. They shared many travels to Ireland, Panama, Alaska and Hawaii, as well as three trips back to France to visit family. Also, he enjoyed many domestic tours by bus, plane and train.   He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Horicon. His faith was his Rock.   He is survived by Dona Fritzel and her children, Megan Fritzel of Waupun and Jennifer (Patrick) Schilcher of Appleton. Also step-grandchildren in Texas and many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his only sister, Danielle; and wife, Maggie.   Celebration of Life will be held as Covid restrictions lift. Please vaccinate. Memorials can be made to Dodge County Special Olympics and ARC, or Sacred Heart of Horicon.   Sincere thanks to Hospice Care Agnesian, SSM Dialysis Center of Beaver Dam, Nurses and Doctors who cared for him for many years. What a blessing you were. Also drivers from ADRC who made his journeys possible.

Cyrus E. Morgan


 Cyrus E. Morgan, 83, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, at the Larson House in Columbus.   Cy was born on March 30, 1938, in Park Falls, to Bernard and Marie (Isham) Morgan.   After attending Hayward High School, he served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1959, including two years in Japan.   On April 24, 1982, Cy was united in marriage with Sharon Schaus in Horicon.   He worked as a machinist at John Deere Horicon Works for 27 years, retiring in August of 2000.   Cy loved to play golf and enjoyed playing in the Horicon’s Men’s League. He also enjoyed reading, especially James Patterson, and was an avid Packer, Brewer, and Badger fan. Cy was a gift from God. He had a gentle spirit, a beautiful smile, and an infectious laugh. He will remain is our hearts forever.    Survivors include his wife, Sharon Morgan of Juneau; his sister, Virginia (Craig) Marino of Hayward; his brother, Robert Morgan of Hayward; two sisters-in-law, Florence Morgan of West Allis and Jeanette Morgan of Hayward; two brothers-in-law; Charles (Lori) Schaus of Beaver Dam and David (Diana) Schaus of Mayville; two nephews, Matthew (Beth) Schaus (and their son, Carson) and Jeff Schaus (Marsha); a niece, Julie Schaus; two sons, Patrick Morgan of Madison and Kyle (Tammy) Morgan of Mayville; a granddaughter, Logan Morgan; a great-granddaughter, Lily; other relatives and friends.   Cy was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Leonard, Alan, and Richard; and his sister, Connie Stoll.   There will be a memorial gathering for Cy at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Horicon on Thursday, Jan. 13, from 11 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 1 p.m. John Leiting will be the celebrant.    Jill A. McPherson, 66, of LaValle and formerly of Clyman passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at Patriot Place Assisted Living in Berlin.   Jill was born the daughter of Bruce and Margie (Nickels) Klatt on October 30, 1955, in Watertown. Jill attended Horicon High School. She retired from John Deere in Horicon after 30 years of service.   Jill was married to George McPherson on April 19, 2002, in Baraboo.    Jill enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking, and had a great love for animals including dogs, cats, and the rabbits they had on the farm. Jill loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson. She was an amazing historian of Klatt family history. She always had stories to tell including her work at John Deere and the people she worked with and the friends she made while there. Jill always had something witty to say to you and sure could make you laugh. She was always willing to help out anyone who needed it and wasn’t afraid to offer advice when asked (and even when it wasn’t asked for).    Jill is survived by her husband, George; her daughters, Amy Fischer (fiancé Will Lacharite) and Kimberly (Lonnie) Lacharite; her sister, Sandy (John) Lagerman; her brother, Bob (Christy) Klatt; grandchildren, Todd (Tanya) Lookman and Cassie Lookman; great-grandson, Noah Lookman; step-children, Tracy (Kliff) Barkus, Rick (Michelle) McPherson, Nick McPherson (special friend Andrea Brown), and Melissa McPherson (special friend Dave Jacobson); many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.   She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Randy Klatt.   A luncheon and celebration of life will take place from noon until 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at IAM Union Hall in Horicon.   Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Horicon is serving the family. Michael F. Grulke


   Michael F. Grulke, 51 of Oconomowoc, passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2022, at his home.   Michael was born the son of Fredrick and Sandra (Koepsell) on Dececember 19, 1970. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran River Church Town of Theresa, where he also attended his first eight years of school.    Michael graduated from Mayville High School in 1989 and graduated from UW-Platteville with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.   Mike was instrumental in planning and designing the AGR house remodeling, was on numerous boards as well as the board of directors and held many other offices. Michael obtained his P.E. engineering title and was an engineer for the City of Waukesha.   Mike was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc.   His favorite pastime was fishing and traveling to many different states.   Michael had a loving, kind and generous heart and was the family diplomat. He will be greatly missed.   He is survived by his parents; brothers, Matthew (Dawn) Grulke of Lomira, and Shawn (Michelle) Grulke of Mayville; sisters, Melinda Grulke of Sun Prairie and Sarah (Vince) Barnes of Little Rock, AR; five nieces, India and Asia Barnes, Molly Grulke, Maxine and Simone Chapman; three nephews, Lamonte Grulke, LaDavid Arberry and LaVonte Arberry; and other relatives and friends.   Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Reinhard Grulke of Mayville, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Koepsell of Hartford; two uncles, Steven Grulke and Frank Feucht of Mayville and his aunt, Phyllis Bartel of Scandinavia.    Visitation for Michael will be held at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Oconomowoc,  on Sunday, Jan. 16, from 1 to 3 pm, followed by the memorial service at 3 p.m. Rev Lance O’Donnell and Rev. Jason Schockman will officiate. Please join us for a celebration of life luncheon at the church following the service.
