Dennis “Beans” Hechimovich


Visitation: Thursday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Service: Thursday, Feb. 27, at 12 p.m.  Location: Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon Dennis "Beans" Hechimovich, 62, of Horicon passed away on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020, at his home surrounded by family who loved him deeply.   Dennis was born the son of George and Audrey (Drown) Hechimovich on August 10, 1957, in Beaver Dam. He married Crystal Collien on October 10, 1981, in Horicon.  He worked for the family landfill business until the business was sold in 1993.  He then co-owned and operated Premier Plastics for several years until the business was sold.  He became a partner with his brothers in land development.  The most important thing in his life was becoming a father.  He loved every moment of coaching basketball and softball.  Beans loved the outdoors.  You could always find him in the yard working on his gardening and landscaping or in the woods hunting and working on projects.  His mum garden was one of his favorite pastimes.  Most people always say ‘WHY ME?’ when they are first diagnosed with cancer, but Beans will  always be remembered by saying ‘WHY NOT ME?’.  He wanted to be the one they cured and be able to help others, but God needed him more. Beans is survived by his wife, Crystal and two children, Brennon (special friend Kim) and Brianne (special friend Will).  He is further survived by his four brothers, Tim, Mark (Heather), David ‘Hank’ (Cindy), Greg (Jane); mother-in-law, Lucille Collien; sisters-in-law, Karen (Terry) Spannbauer, Sheryl Ker; brother- in-law, Dale (Connie) Collien and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Edward Collien; brother-in-law, Dave Kern; and his beloved family pet, Belle. A visitation will take place from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 12 noon on Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 12 noon at Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon with the Rev. Fr. Justin Lopina presiding. Burial of Dennis’ cremains will take place at St. Malachy Cemetery in Horicon following the Mass. Victoria “Vickie” M. Koehn


Victoria “Vickie” M. Koehn, 95, of Lomira, formerly of Brownsville, passed away at Hope Health and Rehab on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020. She was born on February 9, 1925, on the family farm between South Byron and Brownsville. She was the daughter of Raymond and Julia (Rockel) Sampson. On August 7, 1947, she married Wally Koehn at St. Paul’s in Brownsville. He was the love of her life, Wally preceded her in death on February 23, 1998. She was employed during her life at the Brownsville Canning Company, Berger’s Ladies Apparel, and most recently at Walmart in Fond du Lac as a greeter for 14 years. She was forced to retire in 2011 due to health problems. Vickie had lived in Brownsville all her life, living on the “Koehn” family homestead for 62 years. She was very proud of her home and yard. Her holiday decorations were very important to her. Vickie was past President of the Dodge County Homemakers and past President of Fountain City Lodge (Railroad). She was also a Mayflower Descendent. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brownsville. She was a very talented lady, who could sit down at her sewing machine and change any piece of fabric into a beautiful piece of clothing. She could also do plumbing, plastering, and could fix her own lawnmowers. Vickie loved her family and loved to host her many cookouts in her backyard. She also loved her Korbel Brandy. She is survived by her children, Bonnie Emerson of Atlanta, GA, Pennae (Alvie) Wiese of LeRoy, and James (Patti) Koehn of Fond du Lac; granddaughters, Ashley Koehn and Angela (Orlando Jones) Koehn of Brooklyn, NY; step-grandchildren, Michele (Brian) Wix of Oakfield, Rochele (Brian Cramer) Wiese of Brownsville, and Matthew (Jenni) Wiese of LeRoy; step-great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kolton Serwe, Tanner and Talon Wix, Chelsy Wiese, Chase Cramer, Jaden, Brennan, and Braxton Wiese; step-great-great-grandchildren, Willow Leneve and Tayden Johnson, also twin great-grandchildren due in April. Vickie is further survived by her sister-in-law, Pat Sampson of Fond du Lac; nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; in-laws; sisters, Barbara Schwefel and Bertie Jacobs; brothers, Carlton and Cecil Sampson; step-grandson, Michael Wiese. Hoople, 78, of Ladysmith, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at Marshfield Medical Center – Ladysmith. He was born on March 13, 1941, to Louis and Mildred (Shearman) Hoople in Ladysmith. He lived in Cornell, through his childhood. In 1961 he married Molly Key. He also served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. Glen then was employed for 35 years at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. In 1985 he and Lois Jones were married. In 1992, Glen and Lois moved to Ladysmith and bought The American Bar and operated it for 12 years. He was a member of the Jaycees and was awarded the Outstanding Young American Award. Glen was also a member of the VFW and the Veterans Memorial Association in Ladysmith and a very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Glen is survived by his wife, Lois; eight children, Connie (Joe) Murray of Fond du Lac, Glen (Janis) Hoople of Fond du Lac, Mark McEathron of Ladysmith, John McEathron of North Fond du Lac, Paul (Jan) McEathron of Bruce, Brinda Jones of Ladysmith, Becky Jones of Fond du Lac and Barbara Jones of Ladysmith; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four granddogs, one grandcat; siblings, Joyce Siebel of Illinois, Roger (Carla) Hoople of Holcombe, Gene (Robin) Hoople of Hortonville, Nancy (Max) Weinert of Holland, Robert Hoople of Waupun, Dan Hoople of Virginia, Randy (Sue) Hoople of Green Bay, and many special nieces and nephews. He and Lois also fostered many children. Glen is also survived by brother-in-law, Dick Moldenhauer and sisters-in-law, Cindy (Chuck) Linskins and Sandra Hoople. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mildred Hoople; daughter-in-law, Rose McEathron, in-law, Herman Moldenhauer; siblings, Beverly Hoople, Ray Hoople, Ralph Hoople, Ken Hoople; brothers-in-law, Rudy Siebel and Brian Wegener; sisters-in-law, Debbie Wegener and Cheryl Moldenhauer; many nieces, nephews and foster children. Friends may call on Saturday morning, Feb. 29, from 9:30 a.m.. until the time of services at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ladysmith. A memorial service for Glen Hoople will be held on Saturday, Feb. 29, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ladysmith with Rev. Kohli, 71, of Lomira, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah, with his family by his side. Jim was born on October 18, 1948, in Fond du Lac, the son of the late Alfred Sr. and Evelyn (Collien) Kohli. He grew up in Knowles. On May 9, 1981, he was united in marriage to Ann Wirtz at Presentation Church in North Fond du Lac. Jim was a Machinist at Danly IEM (Anchor Danly) in Beaver Dam for 27 years. He taught his children work ethic with near perfect attendance and plenty of overtime during those years. He was a proud member of IAM Local Lodge 2053 (formerly 2052). He retired in 2013 and enjoyed retirement with his beloved wife, children and dog, Louie. He was a member of St. Luke’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Knowles. Jim was a sweet and generous person who loved his family. Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include his two children, Dustin Kohli of Fond du Lac and Alissa Kohli (Scott Morfitt) of Eau Claire; three siblings, Alfred Jr. (Sharon) Kohli, John (Teddy) Kohli, Betty (Michael) Shraufnagel; four brothers-in-law, Michael (Medelice) Wirtz, Steve Wirtz, Paul Wirtz, and Scott Wirtz; one sister-in-law, Sue (Charles) Laurenti; nieces, nephews, cousins and other caring relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Ann, in June. Christians, 41, of Beaver Dam, was found nonresponsive at his home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020. He was transferred to U.W. Hospital - Madison and passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020. Shawn was born in Beaver Dam on August 14, 1978, the son of Stephen and Marlee (Pilsner) Christians. He was a graduate of Horicon High School and worked at the family’s business, Vic’s Auto Body, until his death. Shawn leaves behind a daughter, Emma L. Christians and ex-spouse, Michelle Christians, both of Eugene, OR; parents, Stephen Christians and Marlee Christians; brother, Jeremy (Lacy) Christians and their son, Brady; paternal grandparents, Arnold and Geraldine Hammer; maternal grandmother, Lois Pilsner; and is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Victor Pilsner; paternal grandfather, Phillip Christians; and other relatives. Melvin B. Thelen


Melvin B. Thelen “The Boss”, 82, of rural Lomira was called home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2020 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac surrounded by his loving family. Melvin was born on February 1, 1938 in the house on the family farm, to Michael and Bernardine (Weyer) Thelen. He was united in marriage to Gerda M. Kormann on February 12, 1966 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira. Gerda passed away on May 3, 2012. Melvin worked on and later went on to own the family farm until his son took over in 1988. He continued to help almost every day until his passing. He was happiest when he was operating equipment, whether it was driving milk truck until he was 76 years old or spending thousands of hours behind the wheel of the combine. Melvin finished out the 2019 harvest the week prior to Christmas. His driving career began when he was 16 years old for Adrian Betz Trucking of Byron, followed by driving the family truck for Brownsville Canning Factory. Melvin later owned/operated Melvin Thelen Trucking, hauling milk. He finished his driving career hauling milk for Ron Meyer Trucking. Melvin loved fast cars, motorcycles and working in his shop for friends and neighbors. Melvin was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Lomira, the Lomira FFA Alumni and the Lomira Chamber of Commerce. Those Melvin leaves behind to cherish his memory include his two children, Christopher (Lona) Thelen of Town of Lomira and Marita (David) Eggers of Fond du Lac; three step-grandchildren, Cody (Maris) Schaefer of Brookfield, Cameron (Melanie) Schaefer of Menasha, and Ky Schaefer of Town of Lomira; step-great-grandson, Calvin Schaefer; brother-in-law, Eugene Klink of Lomira; sister-in-law, Mia Kormann of Germany. Melvin was also Opa to Lisa (Eric) Ferdinand (nee Koepsell) of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by special family friend, Kathy (the late Jim) Koepsell of Fond du Lac, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends here and in Germany. In addition to his parents and his wife, Gerda, Melvin was preceded in death by his brother, Bernard Thelen; sister, Marion Klink; parents-in-law, Gerhard and Anna Kormann; brother-in-law, Wilhelm Kormann; sisters-in-law, Martha Kormann, Paula (Theo) Hamming, Louise (Willi) Grave, and Hildegard (Roman) Sterr. Frank was born the son of Frank and Audrey (Hauck) Johnson on October 19, 1939, in Barton County. He was a 1958 graduate of Menomonee Falls High School. Following high school, Frank served his country in the Army Reserves. Frank was united in marriage to Luann Margelofsky on May 16, 1960, in Davenport, IA. He had retired after 35 years from AOSmith Corporation, where he had worked as a tool and die maker. After retirement Frank kept busy with a home repair business while he was living in Arizona and Arkansas. In his spare time, Frank enjoyed hunting for gold in the Superstition Mountains and fishing in Arkansas. Frank is survived by his sons, Frank D. (fiancé Connie Kuczmarski) Johnson, III of Rhinelander and Kent A. (Kim) Johnson of Plymouth; his siblings, David Johnson of Milwaukee, Mary (Doug) Krueger of Hartland, Don Johnson of West Bend, and John Johnson of Green Bay; his grandchildren, Meghan (Daniel) Isaacs, Amanda (Pedram) Neku, Jacob (Bethany) Johnson, and Emily (Luke) Van Der Puy; his five great-grandchildren, Diana, Elsie, Caleb, Elijah, and Ruby; his sisters-in-law, Diane (Jim) Qualmann of Horicon, Mary Ann (Dave) Roecker of Mayville, and Suzanne (Ray) Erickson of Horicon. Frank is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Luann. Raith Sr., 81, of Hustisford, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2020, at his home. Jim was born the son of Joseph and Beatrice (Elliot) Raith on April 16, 1938, in Summit Lake. He was a graduate of Elcho High School. On January 30, 1959, Jim was united in marriage with Edith Gall in Germany. He was the owner of Rock River Home Improvement until his retirement in 2008. James was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a member of the Horicon American Legion Post #157. Jim was active in supporting his community; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #14478 and the Horicon Rotary and he enjoyed manning booths at the Dodge County Fair. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and also belonged to the Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, Whitetails Unlimited, and the Swan Road Pheasant Club. He also never passed a casino he didn’t like. Jim is survived by his special friend, Debbie Stuart; his children, Jim (Glennie) Raith Jr. of Hustisford, Joe (Kathy Rossebo) Raith of Horicon, John (Julie) Raith of California, Jeannie (Pat) Campbell of Franklin, Jack “Buck” (Becky Steger) Raith of Hustisford, and Jennifer (Tom) Ruetten of Markesan; his brother-in-law, Peter (Uta) Weissmueller of Germany; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Edith. Shirley was born the daughter of Louis and Ethel (Wiegert) Firari in Beaver Dam on July 22, 1936. She was united in marriage to Allen N. Breit on June 29, 1957 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in LeRoy. Shirley was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. She spent her life taking care of the one’s she loved, her family. Shirley was very creative and enjoyed crafts and gaming trips. She will be fondly remembered for always being there and always being willing to lend a hand. Shirley is survived by her children, Debbie (John) Lauber of Palmetto, FL, Karen (David ‘Peanut’) Adelmeyer of Palmetto, FL, and Greg Breit of Brownsville. Her grandchildren, Lisa Gilles, Nicole (Tim) Payton, Jordan (Hilen) Breit, and Mitchell (Kayla) Breit. Her great grandchildren, Andrew and Amelia Gilles. He was united in marriage to Diane Moon on September 30, 1967, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. Jerry had retired after 30 years as a welder for Maysteel. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed being outdoors and especially tending to his garden, hunting, and fishing. He also liked going on gaming trips with his wife and family.
