Memorial Mass: Saturday, August 17 at 11 a.m.Location: Lady of the Lakes Parish St. Mary’s Chapel in Random LakeDaniel Peter Uelmen passed away on August 4, 2019 at the age of 91 at The Sheboygan Progressive Nursing Home.He was born on June 29, 1928 to Dr. Leo J. and Daisy (nee Ferber) Uelmen of Campbellsport, Wisconsin.Daniel graduated from St. Matthew Parochial Grade School and attended Campbellsport High School. In 1950, he was drafted and served two years with the Second Armored Division (Hell On Wheels) as part of the peace keeping forces in Germany.On November 4, 1950, Dan married Marilyn Trapp of New Prospect. They moved to Random Lake in 1953 and in 1956 they purchased Random Lake Oil Company which they owned and operated until his retirement in 1991. Dan was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes St. Mary’s Parish, Random Lake. He was a 64-year member of the Hamm-Miller-Diedrich Legion Post, 60 year member of the Random Lake Lions Club and served on the Board of Directors of the State Bank of Random Lake.Dan is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughter, Rachel (Russ) Miller of Beechwood; son, Daniel (Sherri) Uelmen of Random Lake; grandson, Daniel Uelmen of Random Lake; granddaughters, Robyn (Eric) Hatton of Toledo Ohio and Samantha Uelmen of Springfield MA; and great-grandson Carson Uelmen of Random Lake. He is further survived by his brother, Douglas (Evelyn) Uelmen of Green Bay; sister, Diane Feiten of Colby; and sister-in-law, Ann Uelmen of Campbellsport along with nieces and nephews.Preceding Daniel in death were his parents, mother- and father-in-law, Richard and Pearl Trapp; brother and sister-in-law, David and Patricia Uelmen; sister and brother-in-law, Daisy Ann and William Carey; brother, Donald Uelmen; sister-in-law, Virginia Trapp; brothers-in-law, James Feiten and Gerald Jandre; and grandson Russell Miller Jr.Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass for Dan will be held on Saturday, August 17 at 11 a.m. at our Lady of the Lakes Parish St. Mary’s Chapel in Random Lake. The Rev. Richard Cerpich will officiate. A celebration of Dan’s life will be held at the Five Pillar’s Supper Club immediately following the mass. Visitation: Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral Service: Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 9:30 a.m. Location: Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon Clarence James Treder, 78, of Juneau, passed away on Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, at his home. Clarence was born the son of Theodore and Lillian (Klapper) Treder on March 8, 1941, in Milwaukee. He was united in marriage with Christine Ann Jahns on June 2, 1962, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Fox Lake. Clarence was a devout Catholic; he was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon, where he was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 14478. Clarence was a jack-of-all-trades and through his work as a tile layer, he worked in buildings all over the area and the state. He was easy-going and always had a joke for everyone. Clarence was the first to volunteer when asked to do so and he loved to sell tickets for the various church and Knights of Columbus raffles. Clarence also loved to fish, but never out of a boat; instead he preferred his trusty cane pole along shore. Clarence is survived by his children, Julie (Chip) Brabbit of Sheldon, Michelle (Allen) Jaeger of Juneau, Jennifer Treder of Juneau, JoAnne (David) Link of Juneau, and Theodore (Patric Meyer) Treder of Kaukauna; three sisters, Ludgeria (Robert) Jonas of Randolph, Alice (Edward) Borkowski of Waupun, and Ruthanne (Matt) Mohr of Pembine; his brothers-in-law, Eugene "Pete" Jahns of Beaver Dam and Curtis (Nancy) Jahns of Juneau; 14 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Lorie Johannes; a grandson, Lukas Jaeger; his brother, Joseph Treder; his brother-in-law, Robert “Joe” Jahns; his twin sisters-in-law, Janet King and Janice Jozefowski; and his mother and father-in-law. A visitation was held on Tuesday, Aug. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon, and also on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at church from 9:30 am until 10:20 am. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Dennis Dirkx celebrating the Mass. Stortz, 94, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at the Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau. Joseph was born on May 8, 1925, to Stephen and Katherine (Marlock) at their home in Mayville. Joe proudly served his country in WWII where he was stationed in the Pacific. He was united in marriage with Dorothy H. Heintz on January 25, 1947, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville. He retired from Maysteel after 47-½ years. Joe was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mayville. He was a member of the Mayville American Legion Post #69 for 73 years. Joe loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was a great gardener and had a gift for growing peppers. Joe loved to go to a good Friday fish fry and spend time with his friends and family. Survivors include his children, Dick (Linda) Stortz of Fond du Lac, Tom (Sally) Stortz of Janesville, Joy (Mike) Nieman of Beaver Dam, David (partner John Horachek) Stortz of Madison; two brothers, Stephen Jr. and John; eight grandchildren, Shawn Stortz, Timothy Stortz, Ryan (Kristen) Stortz, Sarah Stortz, Aaron Stortz, Adam (Kristi) Stortz, Stacia Nieman and Chad Nieman; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob Stortz, McKayla Stortz, Ajay Stortz, Jack Stortz, Otto Stortz, Davis Stortz, Ella Stortz, Dexter Ertel and Harvey Ertel and Joe’s close friend, Matt Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy, in 2011; infant son, Kenny, and two sisters, Betty Niedermair and Delores Tank. Shelly was born on April 9, 1976 in West Bend to Mark and Shari Kircher (Kienappel). Shelly graduated from West Bend East High School in 1994. She graduated with her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Moraine Park Technical College. Shelly worked at Tuttle Creek Learning Center in Kewaskum for over 22 years. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed attending all of their school functions, sporting events, vacations; if her children were excited and happy about it, she wanted to be a part of it. Her childrens’ smiles made her smile. Shelly also enjoyed arts and crafts; she spent hours putting together many scrapbooks of her cherished memories. Those Shelly leaves behind to cherish her memory include her four children, Cody Marx, Tristin Marx, Allyana Marx and Reegen Marx; father, Mark (Sherry) Kircher; mother, Shari (Dan) Mueller; sister, Cristie (Bob) Volkmann; step-brother, James Whitemore; and former husband, Michael Marx. She is further survived by honorary sister, Audra Beyer and family; as well as cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, numerous relatives and friends. Shelly was preceded in death by her aunt, great-grandparents, and grandparents – specifically Grandma Koerble who she became especially close to. Qualmann, 86, of Fond du Lac and formerly of Mayville passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac. Barbara was born the daughter of Kenneth and Rosella Dixon on August 5, 1932, in Janesville. She was a 1950 graduate of Janesville High School. She attended UW-Madison and finished her degree in library science from UW-Oshkosh. She was married to Phillip Collins in June of 1952. She was later married to Paul Qualmann on February 15, 1975. Barbara along with her husband Paul owned and operated Lake Aire Supper Club in Fond du Lac from 1976 to 1996. Barbara enjoyed cooking, reading, crafting and crossword puzzles as well as watching movies. Her true love was being surrounded by her family (and of course cooking for them). She will be remembered as a truly giving and generous person. Barbara is survived by her husband, Paul of Fond du Lac; her three children, Susan (Daniel) Pelkey of Chisholm, MN, Patricia (Larry) Loest of Mayville, and Catherine (Girum) Mistir of Glendale; her siblings: Marilyn McCarthy and Daniel Dixon; brothers-in-law: James (Diane) Qualmann and Glenn Qualmann; grandchildren, Ashley Pelkey (Shawn Lee), Lara Loest, Alyssa (Ronald) Franklin, Tyler Loest, and Caleb Mistir; two great-grandchildren: Trinity Gallagher and Jace Lee; step-grandchildren, Danielle (Buddy) Jensen and Joshua Pelkey; eight step-great-grandchildren; nine step-great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Date:  Saturday, Sept. 21   Time:  10-11am   Place:  Hustisford Fireman's Park Raymond W. Smith of Hustisford peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 30, after a tough six-year battle with dementia. Ray was born in Neda, to Raymond Smith and Dorothy (Simon) Kliefoth on July 27, 1936. On February 14, 1971, he married Carole (Mayhew) Chapman in Rockford, IL. Ray was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, NASCAR and Minnesota Wild. He was also a proud supporter of the Hustisford Falcons and Rock River League baseball, particularly the Husty Astros through the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s, then the Lebanon Whitetails. He donated many hours to running the concession stand at ‘the ballpark’. It was his home away from home. He enjoyed the many friendships that were formed over the years. Ray also enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time with his family. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Carole; children, Kenneth Chapman of Neosho, Ronald (Lisa) Chapman of Bryson City, NC, Peggy (Mike Margelowsky) Chapman of Grand Marsh, Pamela Smith of Hustisford, Cindy (Dennis) Lagerman of Lomira, Connie (Curt) Knoll of Mayville and Jon (Valerie) Haack of Beaver Dam; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Diane (Smith) Chapman of Juneau; brother, Donald Kliefoth of Mayville; sisters-in-law, Linda (Mike) Conrad and Micki Kliefoth of Mayville; brothers-in-law, Robert Hartwig of Mayville, Ed Marshall, James (Cheryl) Mayhew Sr. of Oregon, Timm Mayhew of South Byron, and Tom (JoAnne) Mayhew of Hailey, ID; other nieces, nephews, and friends. Kenneth John Stahl


Kenneth John Stahl passed away at the Sheridan VA Mountain View Living Center on July 23, 2019. Ken was born September 25, 1938, the son of the late Isidore and Eleanore (Godde) Stahl in West Bend, WI. He attended grade school in Boltonville, and high school in Kewaskum. Ken enlisted in the US Navy serving 1956-1957 on the USS Forrestal CVA-59. Following his military service, he returned to Wisconsin working for West Bend Aluminum. He married Marilyn Resee; they later divorced.

Betty Straub, age 89 of Campbellsport, passed away peacefully at her home on July 30, 2019, with her family at her side.Betty was born in Milwaukee on February 14, 1930, to Fred and Meta (nee Rathmann) Stoll. Her family moved to Elmore when she was one-year-old and she lived there until she moved to Campbellsport after her marriage.

Turkiewicz, 42, of Gentle Ben Road, Tomahawk, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 26, 2019. Scott was born February 15, 1977, in Waukesha County to David and Carol (Jacobs) Turkiewicz. He married Jennifer Otto on May 8, 1999, in Princeton. Jen and Scott moved to the Tomahawk area in 2002. Scott was employed for the last three years with the Town of Little Rice. Scott was also a well-known daredevil and had performed across the US and Canada crashing over 650 cars. He went by the names of Justin Sayne and Demo Devil. He had worked with the old Joey Chitwood Show which later became the Charlie Belknap Show. He loved to debate politics, vacationing in the Smokey Mountains, hunting, and four wheeling. He was a fan of Alan Kulwicki, Mark Martin, and whatever team Brett Favre was playing for. He also served on the Little Rice Fire Department and was an EMT. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer; two children, Matthew and Gracie; his dad, David Turkiewicz; sister, Erin (Andy) Thomsen of Horicon; and his father-in-law, Les Otto of Markesan. Scott is further survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. The family will receive friends at Krueger Family Funeral Home in Tomahawk from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. A memorial service for Scott Turkiewicz will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, at 1 p.m. from Krueger Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
