Edward Ernest Weise, Jr.


Edward Ernest Weise, Jr. passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023, surrounded by his family at Ivy Manor Assisted Living in West Bend, at the age of 91 years. He was born in Oak Park, IL, on September 7, 1931, to Edward E. and Mable (Forbes) Weise and grew up in Chicago, IL. He was also lovingly raised by his Aunt Rose Weise after Mable’s untimely death. After high school at the age of 20, Ed joined the Air Force. In the Korean War, he served as a Nuclear Specialist in the 1009th Special Weapons Squadron starting out in Japan. After he was honorably discharged in 1955, he worked for the Bell Telephone Company as a PBX Installer. At one of his jobs at a newspaper company, Ed met his future wife, Yvonne McWhiney, who worked as a secretary. They married on June 2, 1957, and were blessed with six children. The telephone company later transferred Ed to Wisconsin and the family moved first to Fond du Lac and then to West Bend.He retired at the age of 54 as an Engineer and enjoyed a life of travelling the US in an RV (many times volunteering as Camp Host). In 1990, Ed and Yvonne settled in Northern Wisconsin on the Sugar Camp Chain of Lakes. Ed was actively involved with the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lions Club (Past Gov ernor), Telephone Pioneers, Lifeline Installations and the American Legion. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Dundee.He was very proud that he was retired for 37 years while only working 30!Ed is survived by his six children: Regina (Howard) Kaney, Thomas, Diane (Ricky) Crass, Barbara, (Danny) Schellhaass, Nancy (Tim) Ruedinger, Ed - ward E., III (Suzette); 14 grandchildren; 16 greatgrand children; his beloved dog, Zoe; other relatives and friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Yvonne, on April 6, 2017; his sister, Shirley and her husband Drew Carey; and Ed’s dogs, Tascha and Twigs.Special thanks to the staff at Ivy Manor, Preceptor Home Health and Hospice, Dr. Burfeind and his nurses, Alyssa and Nikki.Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend from 10 until 11:15 a.m. with services at 11:30 a.m. Lunch will be from 12 until 2:30 p.m., with burial to follow in Washington County Memorial Park with military honors.On-line guestbook and condolences available at www.schmidtfuneralhome.com.

Paula Catherine Kutz (nee Kohler), 88, of Kewaskum, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Serenity Villa in Slinger. She was born on November 20, 1934, in Kewaskum, the daughter of the late Peter and Rosaline (nee Pflum) Kohler. On August 20, 1955, Paula was united in marriage to Frank Kutz at Holy Trinity Church in Kewaskum.Paula worked for many years at Regal Ware in Kewaskum in the payroll department. In 1986, she started work at Schloemer Law Office in West Bend in the tax department until 2008. Paula enjoyed reading, collecting Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Harley Davidson books, and books about Brett Favre. She enjoyed spending time up north at their Lake home on Big Sand Lake, spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s school programs and ball games.Those Paula leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 67 years, Frank Kutz, Jr.; three daughters, Kathy (Butch) Koenig of Phelps, Karolyn (Brad) Schmidt, and Nancy (Scott) Zimdars, both of West Bend; seven grandchildren, Julie Schaefer of Tukwila, Washington, Jason and Jacci Koenig of West Bend, Jennifer (Danny) Arevalo of Whittier, California, Haley Staples (Joel Trede) of Kewaskum, Alexander and Benjamin Schmidt of West Bend; step-grandson, Jesse (Karina) Koenig of L’Anse, Michigan; great-grandchildren, Alexanderia Schaefer of Redmond, Washington, Jude, Caleb, and Ezra Arevalo of Whittier, California, and Jace and Scarlett Staples of Kewaskum; step great-granddaughter, Akira Koenig of L’Anse, Michigan.Paula is further survived by her brother, Paul (Ruth) Kohler of West Bend; brother-in-law, Sylvester (Joan) Dettmann; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Kutz of West Bend and Amanda Lohse of Sheboygan; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.In addition to her parents, Paula is preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Dreher; mother-in-law, Lorena Ramel; father-in-law, Frank Kutz, Sr.; stepfa ther-in-law, Herbert Ramel; brothers-in-law, Allen Dreher, Wilbert Kutz, Harold Bath, and Sylvester Lauters; sisters-in-law, Bernadette Dettmann, Irene Lauters, Adeline Bath, and Lillian Kutz; and step-sister-in-law, LaVern Bratz.Visitation: Paula’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 305 Main Street, Kewaskum, from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.Memorial Mass: Memorial Mass for Paula will follow visitation at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 12 p.m. with Father Mark Jones officiating the Mass.The family would like to thank the nurses from TICU Froedtert Wauwatosa. Marlene B. Domasky


Marlene B. (Michaels) Domasky, longtime resident of Boltonville and proud educator, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 14, 2023. She was born on Nov. 4, 1934 in St. Anna, Wisconsin to Harold and Martha (Beck) Michaels. Known for her generosity and determined spirit, Marlene placed a high value on education. Her love for learning began at the age of four, when she was sent to first grade and, despite her young age, was regarded by her teacher as the best student in her class. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School. In later years, as a single mother raising six children, it was education that allowed Marlene to build a stable life for herself and her family. She went back to school in the late 1960s and graduated cum laude from Lakeland College in 1971 with a major in English and elementary education. At the time, she was featured in the Sheboygan Press for her amazing accomplishments – she’d finished four years of coursework in three-and-a-half years while raising her kids on her own and working nights – and was quoted as saying, “The children cooperated, but they always reminded me that I’m a mother first.” And that she was. Some of her family’s fondest memories center around Marlene’s ability to make even the simplest events into something memorable, whether it was a hike in the Kettle Moraine with a picnic lunch, grilling hot dogs in the back yard, or an occasional special trip to McDonald’s, where each child would get half of a hamburger, half an order of french fries, and half of a chocolate shake – all for $5. Marlene later went on to earn her master’s degree in K-12 education, an accomplishment of which she was rightfully proud. It was at a camping trip for single parents that Marlene met the love of her life, David Domasky. The two were united in marriage on June 23, 1973, and combined their lives into a blended family of 10. They made their home together in Boltonville, across from Farmington Elementary School. Marlene spent 30 years teaching, most of them in the Kewaskum School District. After her retirement, she established the Marlene Domasky Scholarship through KEYS, which awarded two scholarships in the amount of $4,000 each annually to Kewaskum High School graduates who had attended Farmington Elementary. She also contributed financially to the higher education costs of each of her grandchildren. During retirement, Marlene could often be seen in the stands cheering on the Kewaskum High School football team. She enjoyed spending winters with Dave at La Hacienda Resort in Apache Junction, Arizona, where she filled her days with reading and taking oil painting classes. Those Marlene leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, David Domasky; her children, Mark (Mary) Steinhardt, Cindy (Mark) Schaefer, Bruce (Donna) Steinhardt, Jeff (Cindy) Steinhardt, Mike Steinhardt, Scott (Janine) Prost-Domasky, and Mark (Tami) Domasky. She is further survived by 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her brothers, Elroy and Donald Michaels; stepmother, Irene Michaels; daughter-in-law, Kara Domasky; and daughter, Christine Gagnon, who the family knows was waiting in Heaven to meet her with a big hug. Marlene’s family will greet relatives and friends from 12 to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Peace United Church of Christ, 343 First Street, Kewaskum, followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Eric Kirkegaard officiating. Ethel Hedwig Lindert


Ethel Hedwig (Grunske) Lindert, 97, left her earthly home on July 22, 2023, to be with her Lord and Savior at her eternal home in Heaven. Ethel was born to Otto and Hildegard (Goltz) Grunske on March 13, 1926, in the Town of Hubbard. She became a child of God through Holy Baptism on May 2, 1926, at St. John’s Lutheran Church Woodland, and confirmed her faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church Woodland on April 10, 1938, learning the catechism in both English and German. On April 12, 1944, she was united in marriage with Harold Lindert. Together they farmed on the family farm in the Town of Theresa until Harold’s death in 1988. Ethel was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mayville. Ethel loved to sew, garden, and canned an abundance of vegetables to feed her large family. She crocheted beautiful doilies of all sizes. Harold and Ethel enjoyed polka dances and trips with family and friends. Ethel is survived by eight children, Marcel (Joan) Lindert, Marlyn (Nancy) Lindert, Gloria Rassmann, Wanda (Bob) Fairly, Marvin (Arlette) Lindert, Mark (Tonya) Lindert, Robin (Debbie) Lindert and Dawn (Gary) Krueger; 25 grandchildren, Randy (Laura) Sellnow, Tony (Nancy) Sellnow, Jennifer (Jay) Adelmeyer, Lisa (John) Wozniak, Steven Lindert, Jon (Karen) Lindert, Daniel (Marina) Lindert, Sheri (Dave) Wilderman, Jill Guetzke, Kevin (Melissa Smith) Lindert, Shawn (Rick) Krapfl, Shelly (Brian) Miescke, Heather (Don) Dargel, Amanda Fairly, Ben (Meredith) Fairly, Aaron (Ashley) Lindert, Dale (Mallory) Lindert, Faye (Jason) Franklin, Kristi Lindert, Dustin (Kristin) Lindert, Justin (Amanda) Lindert, Ashley (Loran) Leech, Samantha (Jonathan) Whitver, Kelsey (fiance’ Ryan Scott) Krueger and Collin Krueger; 47 great-grandchildren with another on the way; four great-great-grandchildren; nephew, Melvin (Dana) Callies; other family and friends. Eleanor M. Norskog Eleanor M. Norskog, 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Edenbrook of Fond du Lac. She was born February 1, 1926, in Westby, WI to Gustav and Lisa Sund. Eleanor went to schools in North Natwick for her elementary years and Westby High School, graduating in 1944; at - tended Vernon County Normal School in Viroqua and graduated in 1946 with an Elementary Education Teacher’s Degree. She taught elementary grades for several years and then worked at Farmers Mutual Insurance Company in Madison until her marriage to Merlin J. Norskog of Spring Grove, MN on August 5, 1950, in Livingston, MT. They moved back to Spring Grove, MN in 1953. In 1959, they moved to Iowa; in 1966, the family moved to Kewaskum and then to Campbellsport in 1986. Survivors include her children, Marcia Smith of Kewaskum, Ken (Chris) of West Bend, Terry (Renee) of Plymouth, Debbie (Pat) Staehler of Richfield, and Bob (Sue) of Random Lake. Grandchildren include Brian (Holly) Smith, Lisa (David) Sarnowski, Ryan (Pamela) Staehler, Paul Norskog, Adam (Jessy) Staehler, Erin (Joe) Larsen, Ashley (Tyler) Kruse, Randy (Heather) Norskog, Erica (Michael) Rueben - sam, and Jessica Norskog. Great-grandchildren in - clude Mark and Logan Smith, Autumn and Chase Kowalski, Jordan, Connor and Isaac Kruse, Desmond and Stella Sarnowski, Ellianna and Landon Norskog, Alicia Staehler, Collin Staehler and Tyr Ruebensam. She is further survived by brothers-in-law, Leigh (Thelma) Norskog and David (Becky) Amunrud; and sister-in-law, Anna Mae Krause. Preceding Eleanor in death were her husband, Mer - lin Norskog; her parents, Gustav and Lisa Sund; inlaws, Julius Norskog and Mina Norskog Amunrud; siblings, John (Jay) Sund, Clarence (Elinore) Sund, Julian (Dorothy) Sund, Gilman (Anne) Sund, Julia (Lloyd) Peterson, Kenneth (Elaine) Sund, and Merlin Sund; son-in-law, Michael Smith; siblings-in-law, Ann (Roland) Bratland, Gerry (Gwen) Norskog, Donald (Dee) Norskog, Odell (Betty) Norskog, Jackie (Bernie) Varberg, and Nancy (Tom) Barker. Joseph Hugo Minz


Joseph “Joey” Hugo Minz, age 91, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at The Kathy Hospice in West Bend. Joey was born on November 13, 1931, in the Town of Fredonia to Albert and Marie (nee Bein) Minz. From the age of 17, he was self-employed, starting by collecting and selling scrap rags and paper. Over the years, while working construction on the side, Joey built a scrap iron business. In 1978, he began working with Marie “Cookie” Minz (nee Ohm). Joey and Cookie were married in June 1981 at King Park in Sheboygan, and soon after established J& M Minz Steel Sales. After several years of traveling throughout the Midwest to tear down and scrap old factories, water towers, and bridges, Joey and Cookie established a shop and residence on Highway G near Campbellsport, a place that Joe loved and worked on until his final days. Joey’s passion for work and love of a job well done was evident in everything he did. He was known for being the best around with a blowtorch and sincerely loved getting to work every morning. Many of his friends and family will fondly remember how consistently hardworking Joey was and how much he enjoyed finding solutions to the day-to-day challenges of his trade. Joey held a deep passion for playing music through - out much of his life. At age 21, he began performing country music in bars, clubs, and at local festivals, where he made many lifelong friends and connections as he became known in the area for his guitar playing and excellent singing voice. In later years, Joey loved nothing more than performing duets of country standards with his wife under the name “Joey Minz and Cookie.”Joe also loved riding motorcycles. He and Cookie saw much of the United States on the back of a motorcycle during their many riding trips around the country. As a young man, Joey was a member of the infamous “Barton Gang,” an outfit of rough riders (and married men) that roamed the area around Bar - ton, Wisconsin in the 1950s. He also enjoyed fishing, visiting his countless friends and family members, and above all, being with his loving and devoted wife Cookie.Joe is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marie; children and stepchildren, Lexi (Tim), Mark (Debbie), Gale, Rusty, Becky, David, Brenda, and Rochelle; father-in-law, Frank Ohm; brothers-in law, Michael Ohm, Matthew (Tess) Ohm; sister, Adeline Dyer; and sisters-in-law, Mae Minz, Monica (Chad) Allaback, and Melissa Ohm; nieces and nephews, Shelley (Gib), Michael (Sam), Caroline, and Trent Allaback, He is further survived by many great, great-great, and three-times-great nieces and nephews, as well as numerous customers, fans of his music, and close friends.Joey is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Artie and Carl Minz; and sisters, Katie and Rosie Minz.Joe’s family would like to thank the staff at the Kathy Hospice of West Bend for all their kindness and care in making his time there comfortable and restful.A Funeral Service will be at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2023, at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W Paradise Dr. West Bend, WI 53095) with Pastor John C. In the afternoon of Tuesday, July 11,2023, our sweet mother and grandmother, Dolores June Fincke, passed away after a brief battle with acute leukemia in the comfort of her daughter and son-in-law’s home, where she had resided for the past three years. She was 90 years old. Dolores June Fincke was born in Fond du Lac to James W. and Ethel Moore. She spent a few years living with her beloved Aunt Laura, Uncle Harold, and cousin Mary Jean in Ironwood, Michigan. She treasured the time spent there with her family, including her sweet grandmother.She returned to Fond du Lac and graduated from LP Goodrich. She started at a canning company, Mengel’s Dress Shop, and Tasty Bakery before working at Bestt Roller for the next 37 years. She very proudly campaigned for local candidates. She retired following the birth of her beloved twin grandsons. Before her marriage, she often could be found caring for her nieces and nephews. They frequently recall their special times together.On October 17, 1967, she married Clemens Donald “Cuddles” Fincke at St. Joseph’s Church. Spending time together was important. After having their daughter, they enjoyed many camping trips, including to Arkansas and South Dakota before his illness ended their travels. Many precious times were spent at their weekend get-a-way or watching the Chicago Cubs on TV. Don preceded her on September 18, 1990.Having fun was a great part of her life. She spent almost every weekend together with Laura and her family. She was a loyal fan for her grandsons’ events. She enjoyed doing ceramics and shared her beautiful projects with her family members and friends. In her later years, she enjoyed adult coloring, challenging puzzles, spending time in the woods picking up pinecones/sticks, and just about anything that her family was doing. Even in her last weeks, she still had fun camping with her family. She was so full of life and fun with a beautiful, and sometimes mischievous, smile.She was a free spirit and a pure soul who served as a beacon of happiness for all those around her. Her unbridled enthusiasm, infectious laughs, and endless Grandma-isms were the epitome of who she was. Throughout her final days, she was surrounded by many of her loved ones and was able to celebrate her grandson’s impending marriage in a special ceremony to allow her to witness the wedding in some capacity prior to her departure to her heavenly home.She is survived by her daughter, Laura “my papoose” (David) Seefeld; and grandsons, Alex “Alley Cat” (Tessa Pfortmiller), Zach “Zach-apoo”, and Nathan “her roommate.” She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Moore; her sisters-in-law, Linda (Wayne) Lowery and Gerry Moore; and many beloved nieces and nephews.She was greeted in Heaven by her husband, Don; parents; brothers, David, Wilfred Colin “Colie”, Donald I. “Mike”; and sister, Mary Patricia “Peggy”. She is preceded by her sisters-in-law, Joan Moorehead, Rita (David) Huebschman, Nadine (Jim) Gendron, and Janet Fincke.The family would like to extend a special thanks to SSM Adult Day Services, especially Edna, and SSM Hospice, especially Denise.A public visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Parish. Elizabeth L. “Betty” Raether, 88, of Kewaskum, passed away on July 15, 2023, at Kettle Moraine Gardens with her family at her side. Betty was born on June 5, 1935, in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Carl and Grace (nee Riske) Podskarbi. On June 16, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ralph Raether Sr. at Grace Lutheran Church in Kenosha. Ralph preceded Betty in death on August 3, 2007.Betty was employed by Regal Ware in Kewaskum for 30 plus years. Betty spent her life in Kewaskum until retiring in 1992 and moved to their home in Millston, Wisconsin. She returned to Kewaskum in 2007 after the passing of her husband, Ralph. She enjoyed traveling around the state, vacations in Eagle River with family, snowmobiling, playing cards, spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed a game of cards with “the lads” in Millston as well as with her lady friends. Above all else, Betty enjoyed spending time with her children and grand - children. Joyce C. Heller (Uelmen) of West Bend, formerly of Kewaskum, was called home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born on October 22, 19-'something-or-other' to Frank and Alice Uelmen (Bath). She was united in marriage to Joseph W. “Joe” Heller on October 10, 1970, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.Joyce enjoyed visiting wineries in Wisconsin, especially Woolersheim Winery near Prairie Du Sac. She worked at Amity Leather for many years. Joyce was an avid Ford Mustang enthusiast having owned several in her lifetime; however, she was the only one allowed to drive the 2015 Convertible. Most of all, Joyce loved her family, and dedicated her life to her husband and two sons.Those Joyce leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 52 years, Joe; two sons, Brian (Anna) Heller and Scott (Nicole) Heller; two grandchildren, Emmerson and Beckham; and sister, Bonnie Uelmen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Donald (Sheryl) Uelmen; and her beloved Cocker Spaniel, Baley.Memorial Mass: A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Joyce will take place at St. Matthias Catholic Chapel (N1044 Highway S, Campbellsport, WI – 53010) on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. with burial to immediately follow.The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Froedtert Hospital Wauwatosa and Promedica Hospice for their care and compassion.Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Joyce’s arrangements.
