Dennis H. Krueger


   Dennis H. Krueger, 76, of Mayville passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at his home with his loving family surrounding him.   Dennis was born to Harvey and Doris (nee Karnitz) Krueger on March 22, 1947. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1965. Dennis then enlisted in the Army for three years, spending two years in Germany as a tank mechanic.   He was united in marriage to Alice Walters on July 26, 1969, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville, where they are both lifetime members. Dennis belonged to the American Legion Post 270 in Theresa for 56 years. He was an over-the-road truck driver for 44 years, until he retired at the age of 66.   Dennis enjoyed camping, bowling, grilling, and most of all spending time with his family. His favorite channel on TV was westerns.   Dennis will be remembered by his loving wife, Alice, of 53 years; their three children, Daniel (Nicole Rauch) Krueger of Waupun, Jennifer (Joel) Harmsen of Oakfield, and Samantha (Curtis) Schlieve of Waupun; son-in-law, Jerry Clark; eight grandchildren, Isabelle, Marissa, Morgan, Ava, Austin, Riley, Evan, and Hayven; two brothers, Virgil (Cindy) Krueger and Todd (friend Karol) Krueger; three sisters, Mardell (Mike) Sabel, Sandy (Mark) Wessel; and Christine (friend Tracy) Krueger; six sisters-in-law, Cindy Krueger, Bonnie (Dan) Sanger, Linda Haddy, Sandy (Jim) Seering, Barbara (Bob) Holzam, and Diane Walters; three brothers-in-law, David (Mary Ann) Walters, Merlin (Vicki) Walters, and Kenny (Diane) Walters; and many relatives, nieces, nephews, and close friends.    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Clark; sister, Beverly Schuster; brother, Greg Krueger; brother-in-law, Frances Schuster; nephew, Scott Wessel; and three brothers-in-law, Bob Walters, Donald Walters Jr., and Jerry Haddy.    In honor of Dennis’s wishes, a private family service has been held.    Jerry Elmer Bunkoske, 83, of Hori­con was called home to be with his Lord and Sav­ior on May 20, 2023, at his home in Hori­con with his lov­ing wife by his side.   Jerry was born the son of Elmer and Ber­nice (Glamann) Bunkoske on No­vem­ber 22, 1939, in Beaver Dam. He grad­u­ated from Hori­con High School in 1958. Jerry went on to proudly serve his coun­try in the United States Army Re­serves. Jerry was the cur­rent pres­i­dent of Oak Hill Ceme­tery As­so­ci­a­tion and for­mer em­ployee of BYCO Floor­ing in Mayville.   Jerry was united in mar­riage to Shirley A. Wen­dorf, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Hori­con in April 1959. To­gether they raised four boys. Shirley pre­ceded him in death. Jerry found love again and was united in mar­riage on June 6, 1986, to Ju­dith A. Boomsma at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Hori­con.    Jerry was a life­long and ac­tive mem­ber of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Hori­con. He was a mem­ber of nu­mer­ous boards and com­mit­tees and was in­te­gral in the build­ing of the new church. He was in­cred­i­bly proud of the beau­ti­ful church that was con­structed.    Jerry found great hap­pi­ness and con­tent­ment being in na­ture. He was an avid hunter and fish­er­man and en­joyed shar­ing his love of the out­doors with his fam­ily and friends. Jerry was a hunter safety in­struc­tor for over 25 years, shar­ing his love and re­spect for the out­doors with many gen­er­a­tions. Jerry was in­stru­men­tal in Hori­con base­ball pro­grams and coached for many years. He was also in­ducted into the Rock River League Base­ball Hall of Fame.    Jerry trea­sured the time he was able to spend with loved ones. He and Judy spent many years camp­ing, cre­at­ing many mem­o­ries along the way. Jerry had a won­der­ful time going to watch the Mil­wau­kee Brew­ers and Green Bay Packer games with his sons. He also was a proud mem­ber of the Hori­con Amer­i­can Le­gion Post #157.    Jerry will be missed by his lov­ing and sup­port­ive wife, Judy; his chil­dren, Mark (Kim) Bunkoske of Waupun, Ran­dall (Pat) Bunkoske of Al­ces­ter, South Dakota, Craig Bunkoske of Juneau, and Kelly (Lisa) Bunkoske of Beaver Dam; his stepchil­dren: Re­becca (Mike) Lemoine of Or­lando, Florida and Car­rie (Leon) Bunker of Beaver Dam; his 10 grand­chil­dren; six step-grand­chil­dren; five great-grand­chil­dren; seven step-great-grand­chil­dren; his brother, Daniel (Deb­bie) Bunkoske; his sis­ter: Con­nie Bunkoske; and many other nieces, nephews, rel­a­tives, and friends.   Jerry was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; his first wife and mother of his chil­dren, Shirley; and brother, Dick Bunkoske.    Fu­neral ser­vices for Jerry will be held on Sat­ur­day, May 27, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Hori­con with Rev. Daniel See­hafer of­fi­ci­at­ing. Mary Vore

Mary Vore


Mary Vore peacefully went home to the Lord on Saturday, May 6, at the age of 83, in her home, surrounded by family. She was born in West Bend on November 15, 1939, to Clarence and Esther (Figge) Wolf. She at tended St. Boniface Catholic School and then West Bend High School, where she graduated in 1957.She married Donald G. Boyung on August 24, 1957, at St. Boniface Church in Germantown. Together, they began raising a family which grew to seven children over the next 22 years. During their 23 years of marriage, they lived in Mississippi, Milwaukee, and then finally settled in Newburg in 1963. After Don’s passing in 1980, Mary continued to raise their last four children. On July 29, 1990, Mary married Leon (Lefty) Vore, growing their new family to 12. Together, they raised the two youngest of her children and traveled regularly with them.Mary was a loving mother and truly appreciated the different personalities of all her children and all the joy they gave her. When asked for advice about raising children, she said it was most important just to love them. Over the years, she was blessed with 33 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren, each welcomed with great love and pride.Mary had multiple jobs over her lifetime, but most enjoyed her work with the patients at Samaritan Home in West Bend where she worked as a CNA for 17 years, retiring in 2004. After retirement, Mary and Lefty continued to travel, enjoy time in the yard at home, and spend time with family. They had more than 33 wonderful years together.Mary had a servant’s heart and always wanted to help where she could. She was involved at her church, serving as a catechist and as a member of the Christian Mothers. More recently, she helped serve meals at St. Ben’s and regularly contributed to families in need, especially at Christmas. She treasured spending time with family and friends. She loved baking and always had cookies ready should anyone stop for a visit. Each spring and summer, you could find her outdoors, planting and tending her many plants and flowers. When she couldn’t be outside, she enjoyed reading, playing cards, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, sewing, and painting.Mary was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Newburg since moving to Newburg in 1963.Mary is survived by her husband, Leon (Lefty) Vore; her sister, Joanna Groth; sisters-in-law, Jean Weichelt, Doreen Miller, Bethana Peters and LuAnne Salmon; her seven children, Donald F. (Donna) Boyung, David (Joy) Boyung, Daniel (Patricia) Boyung, Dianna (Andrew) Stoffel, Dawn (Kevin) Doll, Charles (Erin) Boyung and Karen (Josh) Smith; her five step-children, Russell Vore, Linda Schroer, Barbara (Bill) Owen, Ron (Cindy) Vore and Jim (Lisa) Vore; 33 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Esther (Figge) Wolf; her sisters, Janice Schmitt and Rosie Vento; her late husband, Donald G. Boyung; and her brothers-in-law, Elmer Weichelt, Abe Miller, Jerry Peters and Edwin Boyung; and other family members.Family and friends gathered for visitation on Monday, May 15, at 9:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 521 Congress Dr., Newburg. Robert E. Leidholdt


Robert E. Leidholdt, 81, went home to his Lord on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Villa Loretta Home in Mount Calvary. He was born in Fond du Lac on July 18, 1941, the son of Ervin and June (nee Gibson) Leidholdt. He was a 1959 graduate of Campbellsport High School. Robert was united in marriage to Nancy M. Klein on October 6, 1962, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Robert was a proud and talented mason for many years working for Selzer & Ornst Construction and later for Kotze Construction. He worked on many projects in the Milwaukee area, including the Allen-Bradley Clock Tower.Family always came first for Robert. He enjoyed many camping trips all over Wisconsin and other states with his wife and children, loved the show “MASH,” All Star Wrestling, and spending time on Long Lake, fishing, boating, and swimming with the grandchildren. He also enjoyed taking the grandkids and great-grandkids for pontoon boat rides around the lake and just hanging out on the pier with family. He loved many family gatherings where he could show off his grilling skills. His favorite, above all, was Christmas. Robert and Nancy always had a 13foot Christmas tree in their previous stone house and current log cabin home. It was beautifully decorated not only with lights and ornaments, but with family by it. He knew directions in Milwaukee like the back of his hand and we all relied on his directional expertise to get us where we wanted to go. Robert and Nancy enjoyed traveling, including Brazil, France, Switzerland, Jamaica, Bahamas, Hawaii, and all over the United States.Robert, skilled in the art of masonry, put a personal touch on each of his homes including a large fieldstone fireplace in his previous stone house outside of Campbellsport. After retirement he enjoyed making miniature fieldstone light houses that adorn his front yard by his current home on Long Lake. Robert was also a woodworker and could fix just about anything. Robert and Nancy also hosted a foreign exchange student from Brazil, Soraya Galassi Sarro, who quickly became his fourth daughter and ice-cream companion and have stayed in touch over the years. Soraya referred to Robert as the “Spoiled Child” because he was an only child.Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Nancy; daughters, Victoria (Wayne) Bokelman, Kelly (Michael) Gatzke, and Jill (Todd) Leidholdt-Immel; grandchildren, Gabriella and Matthew Bokelman, Rebecca (Benjamin) Blandin, Stephanie (Adam) Konz, Cassandra (special friend, Bradley) Gatzke, Elizabeth (Scott) Abig, Nathan (fiancé Samantha) Rauch, Ryan (Alexis) Rauch, Marissa Immel, and Travis Immel; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Everett, Gracelynn, Adley, Axton, Brantley, Kailey, Jaxson, Ethan, Madison, and Maddilyn; brother-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Klein; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Mortl; other relatives and friends.Preceding Robert in death were his parents, Ervin and June; in-laws, John and Anna Klein; brother-in-law, Greg Mortl; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 20, at 12 p.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County Road B, Eden, with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass at the church. Gloria Theresa McCarty


Gloria Theresa McCarty, 93, formerly of the Town of Ashford, passed away peacefully Friday, May 12, 2023, at Froedtert West Bend Hospital. She was born on August 9, 1929, in Milwaukee, the daughter of Bernard and Loretta (nee Liebel) Grohall. The family moved to West Allis when Gloria was three years old. She spent all her summers growing up with her Grandma Liebl at her cottage on Round (now Kettle Moraine) Lake. She graduated from West Allis Central High School in 1947 and met her future husband, John, at Lake Resort when on vacation in 1949. On October 20, 1951, Gloria was united in marriage to John F. “Bud” McCarty by Gloria’s uncle, Rev. Edward Grohall, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in West Allis. They moved to the family farm in 1955, a great adjustment for Gloria. She loved sewing, knitting (making many sweaters), gardening and swimming. Gloria was also an avid reader and an excellent cook and baker; the McCartys never had trouble hiring farmhands as they all greatly enjoyed Gloria’s meals.Survivors include her children, Thomas (Sharon), Kevin (Christel), Beth (Joseph) Stoffel, Amy (Randy) Geiger and John P., all of Campbellsport; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Jim) Guell, Joshua (Elissa) Stoffel, Jeffrey Stoffel (Jenna), Ian (Jill) Stoffel, Laura Stoffel (Eric), Melissa McCarty, Nathan (Aimee) McCarty, Megan McCarty, Sarah (Justin) Hamilton, and Rebecca (Julio) Alonzo; many great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Bernard Grohall; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John “Bud”; sister, Bernice (Peter) Sparacino; brother, Robert (Judy) Grohall; and sister-in-law, Nancy Grohall.Visitation was held Tuesday, May 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Dennis J. Bartoli, 77, of Campbellsport went home to his Lord on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Edenbrook in Fond du Lac. He was born in Campbellsport on August 31, 1945, the son of Frank and Evelyn Bartoli. Dennis served his country in the U.S.A. Navy stationed on the U.S.S. Intrepid with three years stationed in Vietnam.On June 28, 1969, Dennis was united in marriage to Geraldine “Toots” Zimmer at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Campbellsport where they continue to be members. Dennis worked at Regal Ware in Kewaskum for 44 years and he also ran Bartoli Produce and Market with his wife Geraldine for over 50 years. He was a member of the Bintzler-Waehler American Legion Post #347 in Lomira.    Robert Louis Lit­t­er­ick,55, passed away un­ex­pect­edly on Thurs­day, May 11, 2023 at his home in Hori­con.    In hon­or­ing Bob’s wishes, a Cel­e­bra­tion of Life gath­er­ing will be held on Wednes­day, June 14, from 6pm-9pm at the Hori­con Amer­i­can Le­gion, Hori­con.   Bob was born on De­cem­ber 21, 1967, in Fort Riley, Kansas, to Michael and Alice (Will­man) Lit­t­er­ick.   He was a 1986 grad­u­ate of Hori­con High School. While in high school, Bob par­tic­i­pated in base­ball, bas­ket­ball, and foot­ball. As a teenager, some of his best mem­o­ries were play­ing base­ball for the Hori­con Amer­i­can Le­gion team Post #157, in which his dad was the man­ager and coach.   After his play­ing days were over, Bob pur­sued an op­por­tu­nity to stay in­volved in base­ball by um­pir­ing with his buddy and men­tor, Bob Klatt. Bob was an avid sports fan and en­joyed watch­ing the Green Bay Pack­ers, Mil­wau­kee Bucks, Wis­con­sin Bad­gers and the Mil­wau­kee Brew­ers.   Bob es­pe­cially en­joyed spend­ing time in the woods hunt­ing with his dad and daugh­ters. Bob had many spe­cial mem­o­ries of hunt­ing trips to South Dakota, Canada, Alaska and Ten­nessee to name a few, with his dad, who was his best friend, as well as his long­time pal, Jim Franke. For 30 plus years, Bob spent many, many week­ends in the North­woods at his fam­ily’s cab­ins. From dig­ging out rocks to count­less hours of build­ing ad­di­tions and putting on roofs, Bob was al­ways will­ing to put in the work to have a cabin to hunt out of with his dad, Jimmy, and the Flick boys.    Whether Bob was shoot­ing darts, bowl­ing, play­ing soft­ball or toss­ing bean­bags, he loved com­pet­ing.   As the fa­ther of four beau­ti­ful daugh­ters, Pey­ton, Pres­ley, Parker, and Pier­sten, they were the ab­solute most im­por­tant thing in his world. You could often find Bob in the stands watch­ing his daugh­ters play soft­ball, bas­ket­ball, vol­ley­ball, track, and cross coun­try through­out their sports ca­reers. He spent many sum­mers with Grandpa Mike and Grandma Alice trav­el­ing all over the state and be­yond watch­ing travel soft­ball. He also en­joyed teach­ing his girls how to hunt and fish and al­ways looked for­ward to Deer Camp with the fam­ily at the Franke’s house. Through­out the years, Bob had many in­ter­ests, but the most im­por­tant thing to him was al­ways fam­ily! He was known for his great grilling skills and loved spend­ing Sun­days on the patio en­joy­ing good food and good com­pany, fol­lowed by a camp­fire in the back­yard.    Bob was a life­long res­i­dent of Hori­con and the face of the ser­vice de­part­ment at Reed Chrysler, Beaver Dam. Bob worked as the ser­vice de­part­ment man­ager for 35 years! Bob will be missed by the many, many cus­tomers he pro­vided ser­vice for over the years at Reed Chrysler.   Bob is sur­vived by his daugh­ters, Pey­ton (fiancé Jor­dyn) Lit­t­er­ick of Hart­land, Pres­ley (Trent) Lit­t­er­ick of Hus­tis­ford, Parker (Logan) Lit­t­er­ick of Theresa, and Pier­sten Lit­t­er­ick of Theresa. He is fur­ther sur­vived by his par­ents, Michael and Alice Lit­t­er­ick of Iron Ridge; sis­ter, Shelli Lit­t­er­ick-Hes­sel­man (Mark) of Slinger; niece, Hai­ley Hes­sel­man of Slinger; nephew, Michael (Ali) Hes­sel­man of Edger­ton; Angie (Brian) Reklau of Theresa.    Jeanette M. Sti­panovic (nee Gassner), 92, of Mayville was called home to be with the Lord on Tues­day, May 9, 2023.   Jeanette was born on Au­gust 2, 1930, to the late Mar­cus and Ot­tilis Gassner in Nas­bro.   She was united in mar­riage to Danny Sti­panovic on Sep­tem­ber 8, 1956, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira.   Jeanette worked for 20 years at Tab’s Paper Prod­ucts and helped her hus­band for many years in the tav­ern busi­ness, Dan’s Dugout in Mayville. She was a mem­ber of St. Mary’s Church and Chris­t­ian Mary’s. Jeanette loved the Green Bay Pack­ers, Mil­wau­kee Brew­ers, and the Wis­con­sin Bad­gers. She en­joyed read­ing, fish­ing, bowl­ing, play­ing Bingo, and going to the casino.    William Robert Gensch, 92, of Rolling Prairie, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.   William, also known as Bill or “Red Gensch” for his red hair, was born in Beaver Dam on July 1, 1930, the son of William A. and Crystal M. (Blakley) Gensch.   On December 23, 1950, he was united in marriage to his wife, Arlene Schindel at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau. He worked at the Gensch family ice business, the Fox Lake Ice Company, until 1949. He then worked at John Deere Horicon Works in maintenance until retirement in 1987.   Bill was a true handyman who could fix anything. He enjoyed watching and feeding his birds and squirrels. Through the years he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. An avid gardener, he took great pride in his flower gardens, especially his rose gardens he grew for his wife, Arlene. She was his greatest love, and his greatest joy was his family. He loved daily conversations with his children, hearing about their day, and was always overjoyed when hearing from his grandchildren. Family was the center of his world, and he loved every moment he shared with them.   William is survived by his five children, Daniel (Paula) Gensch of Tecumseh, MI, David (Judi) Gensch of Neshkoro, William (Lorna) Gensch of Princeton, Thomas (Rhonda Pollock) Gensch of Mauston, and Ann (Greg) Jenswold of Jefferson; 11 grandchildren, Jon, Jenny, David (Carissa), Emily (Chad), Christine, Kelly (Eric), Will (Christina), Justin (Holly), Dustin (Hilary), Matthew, and Kiana; 17 (soon to be 19) great-grandchildren, Fiona, Rowan, Gabrielle, Silas, Titus, Charlotte, Madison, Christian, Brooklyn, Kayden, Cameron, Savannah, Spencer, Oaklyn, Senora, Noah, and Mason; nephew and dear friend, Bob Schindel; special niece, Kathi Kielpinski; and further survived by other relatives and friends.   He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Arlene; sisters, Ruth and Bonita; brother-in-law, Edward Kutzke; and other relatives.   A memorial gathering for William took place on Wednesday, May 17, at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Fox Lake.   The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hillside Manor Home Care and Hospice for their care and support.   Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services in Beaver Dam is honored to be serving the family.
