Janet Rose Bastian (nee Dobberpuhl), 91, of West Bend, passed away on January 16, 2023, with her family by her side at The Woodlands Senior Park in Fond du Lac.   Janet was born on July 16, 1931, in the Town of Hubbard to the late Hilbert and Alice (Wagner) Dobberpuhl.   She married Burdet “Bud” Griep on December 9, 1950, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville. Bud passed away on September 17, 1957. She then married her second husband, Rufus Giese on July 1, 1972, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Rufus passed away on December 22, 1983. She was united in marriage to Curtis Bastian on September 1, 1991, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Curtis passed away on March 27, 2018.   Janet was a widow when she was 27 years old with four children under the age of six. When her children were young, she worked at Grocery and Dime stores in Mayville and also worked at Purity Cheese in Mayville. She then worked at the West Bend Company for 22 years.   Janet was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville until 1970 when she moved to West Bend and joined St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church where she remained a member until her death.   She enjoyed traveling around the United States, tours to Hawaii, Alaska, and several trips to Germany. She was a member of the “We Love to Dance” polka club and enjoyed spending summers at East Shore Resort on Rolling Stone Lake for 16 years. Janet was a social butterfly and liked to keep busy crocheting, playing Bingo, cards, visiting some Wisconsin casinos, and planning family events and reunions. She always looked forward to taking trips to Minnesota to visit family, especially her cousin Marion, who was also widowed at a young age with young children. During her last five years, she enjoyed making new friends at Cedar Ridge Senior Community in West Bend and the Woodlands Senior Park in Fond du Lac. Above all else, she cherished the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.    Those left to cherish Janet’s memory include three children, Joann (Denny) Sabel of Fond du lac, Tom (Jeanne) Griep of Mayville, and Norman Griep of Watertown; brother, Ronald Dobberpuhl of Horicon; grandchildren, Julie (Jeff) Roehrig of Fond du Lac, Brian (Brandy) Sabel of Marinette, and Jessica (Gary) Boylen of Suamico; great-grandchildren, Emily and Megan Roehrig, Nick, Kayla, Riley and Lily Sabel, and Charlie and Jensen Boylen; and special niece, Sara Dobberpuhl of Howards Grove and god daughter, Nancy (Villwock) Leystra of Mayville. She is further survived by sisters-in-law, Marilyn Wiesner, Bernice Bastian, and Donna Dahlinger; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.    In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Gordon Griep; daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Keith Schoenike; daughter-in-law, Coralli Griep; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ann Dobberpuhl, Berniece and Lester Eberle, and LaVern and Arlene Griep.    Roger Lee Billington, 66, passed away on January 15, 2023, after a 1 ½ year battle with cancer surrounded by his family.   Roger was born on February 1, 1956, in Fond du Lac, to Earl and Eunice (Becker) Billington.   He joined the Army National Guard in 1974 for six years and graduated Mayville High School in 1975. He retired in May 2021 from Metalcraft, after years of working in different companies starting at Mayville Metal, Maysteel, and Gardner.   On November 29, 1980, Roger married the love of his life Carol J. (Schaefer) at St. Mary’s in Lomira. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, six grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.   Roger was involved in many activities throughout his years, including bowling teams for the Mayville Fire Department and The Knights of Columbus. He served 45 years as a member of the Mayville Fire Department, leaving as Captain of the Ladder truck, which he included taking his kids and grandkids on rides in the truck for parades, participating in water barrels fights, marching in parades, softball games, and serving millions of burgers. He served on DCERT for 10 years directing traffic and helping where needed. For 23 years, he served on the Road America’s Safety Crew as a crew member. Loved taking his daughters hunting and then going with his grandsons and brothers-in-law. He also loved ATVing, fishing, spending time with his family and watching his grandsons play football, baseball, and basketball. Roger and Carol also helped supervise BINGO at St. Mary’s church.   Roger will now be watching over his wife, Carol, of 42 years; his three daughters, Krystle (Matthew) Eilbes of LeRoy, Jennifer (Joseph) Franz of Horicon, and Rebecca (Justin Beal) Billington of Reeseville; his six grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, Hunter and Parker Eilbes; Bryce, Pierce, and Wyatt Franz; Callie Beal; Drake, Alexis, and Bailey, along with a brother, three sisters, 15 sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.   Roger was preceded in death by both his parents; both mother and father-in-law; a brother; three brothers-in-law; and a sister-in-law.   A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 12 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville with the Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. A visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at noon at the church.    Louis A.. Benter, 94, of Mayville, was welcomed by his loving Savior on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Mayville.    Louis was born the son of Alex and Olga (Dobberpuhl) Benter on December 13, 1928, in the Township of Theresa.   Louis was veteran of the US Army and served in Germany.   Louis was united in marriage to Hazel M. Schwantes on August 25, 1951.   He had retired from Mayville Metal in Mayville.   He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville and had served on church council and as an usher. Louis was also a member of the Mayville American Legion Post #69 and he served on the honor guard.   In his spare time, Louis was a skilled woodworker and enjoyed the Brewers. Alongside his wife Hazel, they helped take care of many people and also enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels.    Louis is survived by his son, Gary (Laurie) Benter; grandchildren, Melissa Benter; Katie Vaughn; great-grandchildren, Addison and Lillian. Louis is further survived by other relatives and friends.    Louis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel; and sister, Erna Bahr.   Funeral services for Louis will take place on Monday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville with Rev. Traci A. Maass officiating. Visitation for Louis will be on Monday, Jan. 23, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville.    Lynn E. Persha, 79, of Horicon, passed away on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at Hope Nursing Home, in Lomira.    Lynn was born the daughter of Melvin and Jeanne (Ruppenthal) Dornfeldt on March 18, 1943.   Lynn was a Mayville High School graduate.   She was united in marriage to Dennis Persha on September 30, 1961, at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Horicon. Together they raised their two daughters, Stacey and Stephanie.   Lynn was a secretary at John Hustis Elementary School in Hustisford for many years.   She also was a member of the Hustisford EMS. She loved gardening and selling veggies at local farmer’s market. Lynn loved taking trips up north to Rhinelander with the family and random casino trips. She was also a member of the Horicon Collector Clique.    Lynn will be missed by her loving husband, Dennis Persha of Mayville; daughters, Stacey Persha of Waunakee and Stephanie (Lee) Bonack of Mayville; grandchildren, Tenley Schwartz, Jessica (Ethan) Hass, Matt Bonack, and Chelsey Ripple; and two great-grandchildren, Mason Ripple and Loretta Hass; further survived by her sister, Debra (Del) Kramer, and other relatives and friends.   Lynn was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lee Dornfeld; sister-in-law, Ramona Persha; brother-in-law, Mike Thomas; and nephew, Dale Williams.   A memorial gathering for Lynn will be held on Thursday, Jan. 19, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Horicon.    Koepsell Funeral Home in Horicon is caring for the family. www.Koepsellfh.com

   Pas­tor John Adlor Beauprey, 71, of Hori­con, passed away peace­fully in his home on Jan­u­ary 12, 2023.   Pas­tor John was born the son of Clif­ford and Daisy (Nault) Beauprey on Jan­u­ary 10, 1952, in Beaver Dam.   He was united in mar­riage to Alice Lormis (Beauprey)on June 6, 1974, in Coeur d’Alene, ID.    Pas­tor John gave his life to God at the age of 22 and went into min­istry in March of 1979 and he never looked back. At the age of 30, he be­came a Pas­tor at the Pen­te­costal House of Prayer in Hori­con. Pas­tor John spent his life tak­ing care of and lov­ing peo­ple. He was self­less, full of com­pas­sion, a dreamer, a vi­sion­ary, a fa­ther to the fa­ther­less. Pas­tor John was a man full of faith and fire. His church was his fam­ily, and he loved each and every one of you. He was a lov­ing Fa­ther, Grand­fa­ther and Great Grand­fa­ther.    He will leave a legacy that will live on through the next gen­er­a­tion.   Pas­tor John is sur­vived by his chil­dren, Stacy (Keith) Num­mer­dor of Hori­con, Chris­tine (Sean) Davis of Hori­con, Josh (Jenny) Beauprey of Hori­con, and Steven (Ste­fanie) Beauprey of Iron Ridge; two adopted chil­dren; 19 grand­chil­dren; and seven great-grand­chil­dren; his sib­lings, Carl (Ann) Beauprey, Sherry (Don­ald) Ker­ston, Fayanne (Wally) Blank, and Jean Lin­den; his fa­ther-in-law, Charles Lormis of Mis­souri; sib­lings-in-law, Charles (Bon­nie) Lormis of Wash­ing­ton, Roy (Kathy) Lormis of Geor­gia, Cindy (Myron) Fes­ler of Mis­souri, Robert (Laura) Lormis of Mis­souri, Chris­tine Lormis of Hori­con.    Linda L. Wein­berger, 66, of LeRoy, passed away un­ex­pect­edly on Mon­day, Jan. 9, 2023, at SSM Health, St. Agnes Hos­pi­tal in Fond du Lac.   Linda was born the daugh­ter of Mil­ton and Mathilda (Red­man) Blank on No­vem­ber 27, 1956, in Waupun.   She was a 1975 grad­u­ate of La­co­nia High School.   Linda was united in mar­riage to James ‘Chunky’ Wein­berger on No­vem­ber 12, 1977.   She was a long­time em­ployee and ‘Jill of all trades’ at The Feed Mill in Knowles.   Linda was a mem­ber at St. An­drew Catholic Church in LeRoy.   Fam­ily was im­por­tant to Linda and she cher­ished the time spent with them, es­pe­cially her grand­chil­dren.   Linda is sur­vived by hus­band, James ‘Chunky’ of LeRoy; her sons, Jim (Melissa) Wein­berger of Hart­ford and Josh (Sherri Gradel) Wein­berger of Ru­bi­con; her grand­chil­dren, Kendall, Ethan, and Jack Wein­berger; her for­mer daugh­ter-in-law, Mon­ica Wein­berger of Hart­ford; her sib­lings, Bev Schmuhl, David ‘Char­lie’ (Con­nie) Blank, Carol (Keith) Weyer, and Jeff (Mickey) Blank; her sib­lings-in-law, Ken (Shirley) Wein­berger, Patti Wein­berger, Judy (Ron) Rose, Rick Wein­berger, Susan Wein­berger, Nancy (Larry) Bo­gen­schnei­der, An­thony (Kim) Wein­berger, Ger­ard Wein­berger, Todd (Darra) Wein­berger, and Lisa (Den­nis) Fleis­cher.
