September 15, 1965 – November 3, 2021 John E. Kumrow, 56, of Campbellsport passed away on November 3, 2021, surrounded by his family. John was born on September 15, 1965, a son of Mary and David Kumrow.John was born and raised in West Bend Wisconsin and graduated from West Bend East. He loved to spend time with his family, especially when it involved a good meal. John enjoyed Wisconsin sports, especially the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks.John is survived by his mother, Mary; his children, Jon (Katie) Kumrow, Alec (Amy) Kumrow, and Gretta Kumrow; grandchildren, Elliana, Claire, and Kellan; his sisters, Kellie Kumrow, Peggy (Mark) Justman, Caroline (Scott) Wollner, and Jennifer Schmitt as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.Preceding him in death were his father, David Kumrow; brother-in-law, Joseph Schmitt; and his grandparents.John’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the girls at Lakeland Care, the staff from West Bend Dialysis, and his godfather Dennis T. Karla A. Schulz (Martin), age 43 years, of Kewaskum, was called home to be with the Lord on November 12, 2021, at Froedtert West Bend Hospital surrounded by her loving family.Karla was born on April 27, 1978, in Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to Chad Schulz on October 27, 2001, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.Karla graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1996. She then earned her associate degree in Food Science from Moraine Park Technical College and went on to work at Gehl Foods for 20+ years. Karla was currently working at West Shore Group in Fond du Lac.Karla’s favorite place to be was at her camper hanging with friends and enjoying life.Those Karla leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Chad; her mother, Anne Martin; three brothers, Chad, Nick (Danielle), and Troy; and her grandmother, Sharon Woodworth. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.Karla was preceded in death by her maternal grand father, Lee Woodworth; and maternal grandmother, Mary McElroy.A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (331 Main Street - Kewaskum, WI) with Father Mark Jones officiating. William Koenen


William Koenen, 78, of Waupun, peacefully passed away on November 11, 2021, at Prairie Ridge in Waupun, with Sharon at his side. William was born December 15, 1942, in Kewaskum, WI the son of Jacob and Cora Wiesner Koenen. He graduated from Goodrich High School in Fond du Lac in 1962. He continued his education at St. Norbert College in De Pere where he received his Bachelor’s degree.On August 1, 1970, he married Sharon Lloyd at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eden. They resided in De Pere for six years, moved to Beaver Dam, and in 2000 moved to Waupun.Playing baseball was Bill's passion, and he satisfied it when he played with the Mayville Legion team, his high school and college teams, and Rock River League teams, where he won the 1961 Batting Championship for its Northern Division, playing for Brownsville. Later he coached youth teams, and followed that by attending every one of his sons' games, and many of his grandson's games. Later, golf replaced baseball as a source of abundant challenges and fun at Old Hickory in Beaver Dam.Bill served three years in the Army, attending Officer Candidate School and spending a year in Korea. He put in another 24 years in the Army Reserves, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. While doing that, he was a manufacturing engineer at John Deere in Horicon for 27 years. He was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun.William is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon; two sons: Greg (Mary) Koenen of Vienna, Virginia and Dan Koenen of St. Charles, IL.; three grandchildren: Sam, Mia, and Ben; a sister, Arlene (Robert) Gellings of Campbellsport, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.William was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.Funeral services for William Koenen will be held Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun with Fr. John Radetski officiating.Friends and relatives may call on the family on Thursday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.Lunch for all will follow the service. David J. Hensen


David J. Hensen, 89, formerly of Campbellsport, passed away peacefully with his beloved family gathered around him on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Crossroads in Mayville.He was born in Fond du Lac on October 23, 1932, the son of Rolland and Sedonia (nee Dreifuerst) Hensen. On May 15, 1954, Dave married Phyllis Nichols at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport.He worked with his father in the Hensen Sheet Metal Business, the West Bend Company, Weasler Engineering, Brenner Tank, St. Joseph Convent, Jerry Mann Wood Splitting and Ziegler Machine Shop before retiring. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping; taught hunter safety and was a very good cook. Most important to Dave was time spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren; he loved them all.Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; children, Sue (Dean) Backhaus of Mayville, Lois (Jim) Petersen of Campbellsport, David J (Kay) Hensen, Jr. of Birmingham, AL and Steve (Lisa) Hensen of El Paso, TX; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his siblings, Joyce (Jim) St. Mary, Dick (Barb) Hensen, Paul (Helen) Hensen and Lou Ann (Mark) Benike; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Dave was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Peter; and sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Dick Thoma.A family committal service will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at St. Matthews Cemetery with Rev. Peter Donald Baertschy born on May 19, 1942, passed away at age 79 on the afternoon of Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, after his battle with cancer. Peter passed peacefully with his four children by his side. Peter was one of a kind and will be truly missed. Peter was father to Fritz Baertschy, Jason Kindler, Gretchen Kniffin, and Benjamin Baertschy, husband and loving friend to Mary Jo Koenen; loving father-in-law to Heidi Baertschy, Karrie Kindler, Zack Kniffin and Tiffany Baertschy; a loving and playful grandfather, lovingly known to his adored grandkids as 'Papa' and 'Polar Pops' for his cuddly nature; loving brother to Barbara Pagel and John Baertschy; son of Frederick 'Putz' Oscar Baertschy and Doris Amanda Baertschy.Peter dedicated his life to recovery and helping those suffering from addiction. Suffering from addiction himself and later, becoming sober, his life's mission became helping others. His work impacted so many and created a wave of change within the field of recovery that will continue on. He was a quiet giant with a gentle loving nature, a fiery side, huge sense of humor and spiritual nature that was nurtured through his work and travels. He filled a room with a gentle observing presence and had an infectious laugh that was undeniable.Peter loved travel and experiencing new things. He placed roots in Shorewood (Wisconsin), Rockford, (Illinois), Alaska, Louisiana, Thailand, Fond du Lac (Wisconsin) and Milwaukee (Wisconsin). He loved cooking for family and friends and was famous for his German potato salad, chicken noodle soup with homemade noodles and entertaining with copious amounts of food. He truly loved music of all kinds, traveling with his kids in drum corps, theatre, collecting art and clothes, spending time with his grandkids, and having long talks over coffee. Those who knew him or crossed paths with him are forever changed. His loss is great and will be felt around the world.

Herbert E. Westphal


Herbert E. Westphal, 90, of Iron Ridge, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021. Herbert was born January 23, 1931, in the Town of Herman, to Hertha (nee Lentz) and Reinhold Westphal. He attended Woodland school in the Town of Herman until eighth grade. He proudly served our country in the United States Army in the Korean War 1952 to 1954 and served six years in the Army Reserve. He was a communication specialist in the 61st Artillery Battalion. He received the National Service Medal, U.S. Service Medal, Korean Service ribbon with Bronze Star, Presidential Unit Citation, and the Service Star Republic of Korea. He was a member of the Hustisford Legion Post 420, Hartford Post 8834, and the Disabled Veterans.Herbert was united in marriage to Delores Ann Young on June 18, 1955, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Rubicon.Herbert worked at Pal-o-Pak in Iron Ridge, the Lumber Yard in Woodland, the Chrysler Corporation in Hartford, and farmed his entire life on the family farm. He loved to farm, fish, play cards, gamble, pull practical jokes, reupholster furniture, and build: bird houses, toys and jewelry out of wood.Herbert is survived by his four children, Diane (Bob Justmann) Firari, Debra (Bob) Roeseler, Dale (Sandra) and Duane (Sarah); 11 grandchildren, Shawn Westphal, Steve (Megan) Firari, Scott (Cory) Firari and Michael (Amber) Firari; Robyn (Bob Schilter) Roeseler; Matthew Westphal, Brooke (Kyle) Moran and Madelyn Westphal; Andrew (Kate) Christensen, Katelyn (Jake) Soltis and Kelsey (Carson) Faulkner; 19 great-grandchildren, Trent (Sydney) and Tyler (Shannon) Westphal, Tiana (Christopher) Clucas, Wyatt Westphal, Kylee, Hailey and Eva Firari, Miles and Monroe Firari, Mia and Isabelle Firari, Jailyn and Jocelyn Schilter, Owen Moran, Landon and Reid Christensen, Devon, Jayden and Jaxon Soltis; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Brynley and Maverick Westphal; and sisters-in-law, Roseanne Westphal and Donna Kling. Randy Beck, 65, of Oshkosh, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021.Randy was born on May 18, 1956, to Rueben and Eunice (Wendorff) Beck in Fond du Lac. After graduating from Lomira High School in 1974, he went on to be an extremely faithful employee of 40+ years at Fives - Giddings & Lewis, Inc. in Fond du Lac.On June 15, 1996, he married Patsy (Tichonchik) Beck at Elo Methodist Church. They were overjoyed by the birth of their only child, Stephany Beck, on August 27, 1999. Over the summer, the family celebrated Stephany’s college graduation, Randy's 65 birthday, and 25 years of marriage.Randy, a quiet man by nature, was determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. He was a longtime member of the Utica Volunteer Fire Department, and member of Calvary Lutheran Church. He was often found tending to his lawn - fighting dandelions, riding the lawn mower, and harvesting leaves and hickory nuts. Additionally, Randy enjoyed watching MeTV and cheering on Wisconsin sports - especially the Green Bay Packers with Stephany. He loved sitting outside at the cottage spending time with Patsy and family.Randy was also an avid Wisconsin foodie - a lover of cheese, hotdogs, ice cream, apples, and Blatz beer. He enjoyed monitoring the stock market, keeping up with politics, driving the Ram, family vacations, and Friday night fish frys.Anyone who knew Randy knew that he was the most loving father and husband. He was extremely proud of his daughter.Randy is lovingly survived by his wife, Patsy Beck; daughter, Stephany Beck; sisters, Nancy and Karen Beck; brother-in-law, Paul Tichonchik; sisterin- law, Kay Tichonchik; nephew, Tim Tichonchik; and niece, Anne (Luke) Linsmeyer.He was preceded in death by his parents, Rueben and Eunice Beck; his mother and father-in-law, Mike and Billie Tichonchik; and brother-in-law, Jim Tichonchik.A funeral service for Randy will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 7 pm. A private burial is scheduled for the following day at Lake View Memorial Park.

Carole J. Zehren (nee Schultz, also known as Schultzie), 79, of Kewaskum, entered Eternal Life with her loving Savior on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. She was born on January 16, 1942, to the late Reuben and Sylvia (nee Klein) Schultz in Kewaskum, and was a lifelong resident of Kewaskum. Carole graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1959.After her marriage to Lloyd “Cocky” Keller at St. Lucas Lutheran Church on January 6, 1968, the cou - ple lived in Kewaskum. They especially enjoyed their vacation home at Shawano Lake, their “67” Corvette and socializing with family and friends. Lloyd passed away on April 26, 1991.On December 27, 1998, she married David “Zac” Zehren at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. She and David enjoyed numerous vacations with friends and family, including NASCAR races in Atlanta, Branson, South Dakota, Alaska, Caribbean cruise and others. Carole enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, Friday night fish fries, Sunday morning/afternoon jaunts with friends and wonderful times spent with her family.After attending Milwaukee Business Institute, she began her 38-year employment with The West Bend Company as an Executive Secretary, retiring in 1998. She was a faithful and lifelong member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church, having been baptized, confirmed and married there. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years, a choir member for many, many years, a member of its Ladies Aid, Funeral Commit - tee and various other committees. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.Those Carole leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, David Zehren; a brother, Richard (Sandi) Schultz; sisters and brothers-in-law.
