Juanita C. Schultz

Juanita C. Schultz

Juanita C. Schultz, 95, of Mayville, was welcomed into God’s kingdom on January 9, 2024. She was born in Dunlap, IA, on April 5, 1928, to Beulah (McIntosh) and Clark Richardson. Juanita’s family moved to Mayville in the early 1940s.   After graduating from Mayville High School in 1946, Juanita went on to apprentice with Lavita (Hugg) MacMillian at the Mayville Beauty Shop and obtained her cosmetology license. Juanita was baptized and confirmed a week before she married David N. Schultz on May 22, 1948 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mayville. Together they raised three daughters – Jill, Patti and Jana.    Throughout Juanita’s life, she worked alongside David running their car dealership, the Riverside Apartments and developing Golf View Estates. She also worked at the Mayville Library and as a hairstylist at several local salons.   Juanita was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, supervised the library, and participated in several groups. She helped out with the Girl Scouts, when her children were small. She was a member of the Mayville Historical Society and Main Street Mayville. When she wasn’t working or volunteering, you would find Juanita reading books, working on the family genealogy, playing Bridge with her friends, or cheering for the Green Bay Packers.    Juanita, a loving and devoted mother is survived by her daughters, Patti (Jim) Schegetz and Jana (Steve) Bachhuber; grandchildren, RC (Julie) Schroeder, Brett (Kim) Schroeder, Joe (Shelly) Surita, Schelagh (George) Dehler, Mynda (Terry) Miser, Lisa (Lavel) Rhynes, Kirstyn (Andy) Droese, Teri (Luke) Salinas, Caitlyn (Scott) Hartwig and Jessica (Ethan) Hass; further survived by 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Nancy Baney

Nancy Baney

Nancy Baney, 70, of Hustisford, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, while at UW Hospital in Madison.    Nancy was born the daughter of Calvin and Delores (Stark) Becker on September 2, 1953. She was a 1971 graduate of Hustisford High School.       Nancy was united in marriage to Daniel Baney on September 26, 1987, in Beaver Dam, and they are now reunited in Heaven.   Nancy devoted 46 years to working as a medical records clerk in long term care. Outside of this work, she was also the family caretaker - sharing her big heart and always selflessly caring and providing for others. Family meant everything to Nancy; even in her last days, she was more concerned with the wellbeing of her loved ones than with her own. She was a well-loved member at St. John’s Church in Woodland and allowed the work of our heavenly Father to shine through in her every action.    Nancy had a passion for gardening and baking. She spent her spare time tending to her many flower beds and fulfilling the duties of the family baker. Countless calories she shared - pies, cookies, and her famous tortes! During the holidays, she would make dozens of pies and over 50 dozen cookies! She loved sharing her techniques and recipes with others, including any and all "in the fun and the labor of love" as she always said.   Nancy is survived by her daughter, Abigail (Zachary) Kimmel of Trempealeau and ‘daughter’, Brae (Jerret Parker) Landess and their sons, Liam and Landon of Green Bay; siblings, Bonnie Becker of Mayville, Stuart Becker of Iron Ridge, Karen (Don) Baney of Iron Ridge and Richard Becker of Iron Ridge; siblings-in-law, Kathryn (Gregory) Keup. She is further survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.    Nancy was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel; and sister-in-law, Cheri Becker.    A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday, January 27 from 1-4 p.m. at the Mayville American Legion Post #69 in Mayville.   Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at UW Hospital for providing Nancy with loving care and comfort. We will always carry Nancy in our hearts, and she will be missed dearly by many. It may be traditional to conclude with ‘rest in peace’ but anyone who knew Nancy knows she isn’t resting up there, so….until we meet again, for a vodka gimlet!    Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville is serving the family. www.KoepsellFH.com

Barbara “Barb” Breitkreutz

Barbara “Barb” Breitkreutz

Barbara “Barb” Breitkreutz, 81, of Mayville passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, Dec. 25, surrounded by her loving family.   Barb was born the daughter of Earl and Catherine (Leibl) Schmidt Sr. on December 27, 1941, in Beaver Dam.   She was united in marriage to Roger Hartwig Sr. on August 12th, 1960, at Zion Lutheran church in Horicon. Together the couple had four children. After Roger’s passing in 2005, Barb was united in marriage on April 23, 2016, to Dennis Breitkreutz at Christian Life Fellowship.    Barb was a loving wife and mom, elevating the role of housewife to an artform. Despite that being her full-time chosen profession, she always found time to serve the needs of others.    She was a very active member at her church home, Christian Life Fellowship. She served alongside Roger as CLF Youth Group leaders, worked as the church secretary and was a long-time member of the choir, gleefully singing praises to her Lord. She was the president of the Beaver Dam chapter of Women's Aglow Ministries as well. She served as a Brownie troop leader, nurturing the lives of many young girls. Barb also enjoyed her time bowling on the Tuesday morning women's league at Dodge Center; a highly decorated member of the “Wacky Wood Ducks” team. Despite her distaste for bugs, Barb enjoyed golfing, leisurely pontoon rides, long, meandering rides on the back of a Harley. Although she fully participated in family camping trips, it was most definitely not her favorite outdoor activity! Barb was a loving caregiver, holding hands, providing comfort, praying for and with many people in need. She was also a loving and dedicated dog sitter for “her” beloved Oreo. Being sisters and best friends, she and Sonja enjoyed “Crazy Tuesday” every week, going wherever her little red convertible would take them, oftentimes to casinos or to Crivitz for Shaffer’s fried chicken. No matter the destination, the time they shared was their gift to one another. Barb was blessed to share her final years with her loving husband, Dennis.    Barb will be deeply missed by husband Dennis; daughter, Cathy (Scott) Hoffman of West Bend and son, Roger Hartwig Jr. of Mayville.; grandchildren, Joe (Kristina) Dunbar, Ben Dunbar, Katie (James Gates) Hoffman, Jess Hoffman, Stephanie Hartwig and Michael Hartwig; great-granddaughter, Natalia Dunbar; stepchildren, Wendy Breitkreutz, Wayne Breitkreutz and Marty Breitkreutz. Barb is further survived by other beloved relatives and friends.    Barb was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Roger Sr.; daughters, Timi Conley and infant daughter, Shirley Jean Hartwig; sisters, Sonja Hiley and Shirley Mae Pilsner; and brother, Earl Schmidt.   A celebration of Life for Barb will take place on Friday, Jan. 12, at Christian Life Fellowship in Mayville with Pastor Matt Lewandowski officiating.    A visitation for family and friends will take place from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m. with coffee, sweet treats, and fellowship to follow.    The family invites you to wear red in loving memory of Barb.

Bonnie Jean Kamrath

Bonnie Jean Kamrath

Bonnie Jean Kamrath, 71, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2023, with her family by her side, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.   Bonnie, born July 19, 1952, was the first-born daughter of Palmer and Jane (Panzer) Schultz. She grew up with her four younger siblings on a dairy farm outside of Hustisford. It instilled in her a strong work ethic, unwavering sense of empathy and compassion for all people and animals, and a strong foundation in faith, family, and friends. She was affectionately known as Bonnie Jean “the beauty queen” or “Sissy” by her parents, siblings, and friends.   She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Lloyd Glenn Kamrath on August 18, 1973, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Neosho. Together, they would work their own dairy farm, build a family, establish strong roots in the Mayville community, and celebrate nearly 50 years of marriage.   Bonnie was an incredibly devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and the sweetest, most loving, and caring person to cross your path. Bonnie worked tirelessly during her life on this earth to support her husband on their family farm, while creating a home filled with structure, responsibility, love, laughter, hugs, and kisses for her children, and grandchildren.   Later in life, Bonnie would positively impact countless lives as an early childhood teacher at the Punkin Patch Daycare and as a teacher's aide for the Mayville School District. If the weather was nice, you would most likely find Bonnie on the front porch with her husband, Lloyd, listening to her favorite oldies on the radio or Bob Uecker calling a Brewers game. She enjoyed watching the neighborhood children bike up and down Clark Street or her beloved grandkids playing in the front yard.    She will always be remembered for her love of cardinals, polka music, dancing, the color purple, singing a Christmas tune or humming an oldie but goody, playing her accordion for her brother and sisters, and planning surprise parties for her parents. She showed her love for baking, cooking, or making some family favorites like chocolate chip bars, cucumber salad, peanut clusters, pizza burgers, hot dish, meatloaf, and mashed potatoes, a Friday night fish fry, a strong whiskey sour old fashioned with olives or a brandy and coke. According to her siblings, she was famously quoted as saying “Whoever drinks the fastest, drinks the mostest." She wore her emotions on her sleeves most days, religiously followed her Wisconsin sports teams and her hometown Mayville Cardinals. She loved her church and the Lord, was involved in the church choir for many years, attended hundreds of her kids and grandkids sporting events, musicals, plays, birthday parties, and other events. She loved going out for breakfast with Lloyd to the Back Street Cafe or Diner 67 on weekends for some crispy bacon, or a good meal and cocktail at Blanck’s Supper Club or the Iron Ridge Inn. She was the life of the party, and a social butterfly to those who would run into our parents at the Pub, Roxy’s or the Sherwood Cafe.    Bonnie cherished her close circle of friends, loved a good game of sheepshead or hearts, and was always there to listen, laugh, give a hug, or provide her kids, family, friends, or a complete stranger with a kind word or act of compassion and encouragement. We will never forget her big heart, kind spirit, and willingness to sacrifice anything needed to make our lives better. She always saw the best in people, dished out compliments like they were candy to anyone that crossed her path, and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.   Bonnie is survived by her four children, Joel (Chris) Kamrath of Watertown, Jamey Kamrath of Mayville, Benji (Melinda) Kamrath of Watertown, and Nicole (Adam) Oestreich of Mayville; 10 grandchildren, Alexus, Hannah, Colin, Braedyn, Paxton, Reece, Olivia, Brevon, Nahla, Sulley; her sisters, Karen (Alvin) Hildebrandt, Sharon (Steve) Patterson, Holly (Mike) Peltier; and brother, Gerry (Agnes) Schultz; as well as other relatives and friends.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Palmer and Jane Schultz and her beloved husband, Lloyd Kamrath.   The visitation was held at Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville on Wednesday, Nov. 29, from 4 until 7 p.m. Funeral services for Bonnie will be held at St John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Mark G. Cutler officiating. There will be a brief second visitation for Bonnie at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow the service at St. John’s Cemetery in Mayville.   In lieu of flowers, all donations will be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Mayville Booster Club.   Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville is caring for the family. www.Koepsellfh.com
