Gary “Dea­con” Lee Har­graves, age 83, of Hori­con, passed away un­ex­pect­edly on Sat­ur­day, Au­gust 3, 2024, at St. Agnes Hos­pi­tal in Fond du Lac with his lov­ing wife by his side.  Dea­con was born the son of Roger and Ada­line (Kruger) Har­graves on Au­gust 5, 1940, in Mil­wau­kee. He grad­u­ated from Hori­con High School in 1959. Dea­con was united in mar­riage to Au­drey Welle on De­cem­ber 19, 1964, at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Hori­con. They were just a few months shy of cel­e­brat­ing their 60th wed­ding an­niver­sary.  Dea­con worked as a welder for many years at Mayville Metal. His true pas­sion and hobby was wood­work­ing and craft­ing unique pieces for fam­ily and friends. He es­pe­cially en­joyed tin­ker­ing with any­thing that had a motor. Dea­con and Au­drey trav­elled the coun­try on mo­tor­cy­cle, mak­ing it to every state ex­cept Hawaii and Alaska. They started off camp­ing with a tent, which later turned into pulling the camper be­hind the mo­tor­cy­cle.    Dea­con and Au­drey looked for­ward to going out to eat at var­i­ous restau­rants in the area, es­pe­cially to Schwartz’s Sup­per Club, where they would cel­e­brate their an­niver­sary every year. They loved a good meal, fel­low­ship, and, of course, some re­fresh­ments.    Dea­con will be deeply missed by his wife, Au­drey, and his cousin, Greg Har­graves. Dea­con is fur­ther sur­vived by many other rel­a­tives and friends.    Dea­con was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents.  A memo­r­ial ser­vice for Dea­con will take place on Sat­ur­day, Au­gust 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Fu­neral Home in Hori­con.    Beverly B. Mann, 88, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, at St. Mary’s Health Care Center in Manitowoc.   Beverly was born at home at the family farm on August 13, 1935, in Juneau, to Herbert and Elsie (Nehls) Becker.   She attended Woodland Road School and Mayville High School. At the age of 17, she hopped on a train to Milwaukee where she attended Columbia College of Nursing, graduating in 1956.   On August 2, 1957, she married Stephen Mann at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Woodland.    Beverly was born to be a nurse; it was more than a job, it was a passion. She started her nursing career as a public health nurse for the City of Milwaukee, conducting newborn home visits and immunizations to stop the spread of polio. After moving to Manitowoc and having four children, she returned to nursing at Holy Family Hospital. She then transitioned to education, sharing her love of nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant instructor, first with Lakeshore Technical College, then with St. Mary’s Nursing Home. After retiring from education, she kept her skills sharp by traveling throughout Wisconsin administering CNA licensing exams. She wrapped up her career when she was in her 70s the way it began, providing immunizations with the Red Cross.    Gardening was her other passion. Anyone visiting her home was surrounded by a colorful display of a variety of flowers; all of which would be generously shared with those interested in learning about and expanding their own gardens.   Beverly loved being at their cabin on Lake Content, St. Germain. This was a place for family gatherings, fishing, playing cards with the grandkids, or just sitting on the swing at the lake taking in God’s beauty.   Beverly is survived by her husband, Stephen, of 65 years; children, Charles (Sharon) Mann of Cherry Valley, IL, Katherine (Jeff) Marnach of LaCrescent, MN, Stephanie (Tim) Conway of Onalaska, WI, and Jennifer (John) Trucco of Wausau, WI; and grandchildren, Lindsay (Adam) Adkins, Nicholas (fiancée Maddie O’Brien) Marnach, Daniel (Allie) Marnach, Matthew Marnach, Kelsey (fiancé Ryan Heyrman) Conway, Samuel Conway and Ryan Trucco. She is further survived by siblings, Ruby Gentz, Evangeline Gunka and Jean Chapman; numerous nieces and nephews and friend/neighbor/fellow gardener, Frances Beckman.   She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Elsie; siblings and in-laws, Daniel Becker, Oliver Becker, Herbert and Joan Becker, Calvin and Delores Becker, Curtis and Mary Becker, Joan and Wallace Pusch, Earl Gentz, John Gunka, Walter Chapman, Peter and LaBelle Mann.   Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory Chapel.    Dennis H Moldenhauer, 82, of Mayville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Crossroads Care Center in Mayville. Dennis leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith.    Dennis was born the son of Lorenz and Lydia (Maas) Moldenhauer on February 16, 1942, in Hartford. He graduated from Mayville High School in 1960. He went on to attend the UW School of Agriculture in Madison.   He was united in marriage to Barbara A. Koch on November 4, 1978, at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge.    Dennis retired from ConAgra at the age of 64. He also farmed for many years in the village of Iron Ridge.   Dennis was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Kekoskee, where he also volunteered. Dennis spent his retirement delving into his love for genealogy, taking walks, and spending precious time with his family. Dennis was active with the Senior Center in Iron Ridge and enjoyed attending car shows.    Dennis was a wonderful husband, father, and brother, who cherished stories and laughter with his family. He had a passion for his faith and the church.    Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; three children, Nathan (Renee) Moldenhauer of Sussex, Brendan (Erin) Moldenhauer of Ripon, and Kristin (Peter) Plashko of Bushwood, MD; four grandchildren, Jasmine, Adeline, Peter Jr., and Theodore; and sister, Lois (Richard) Lund of Carmel, IN; nieces, Laura and Jennifer; and nephew, Derrick. Dennis is further survived by other relatives and friends.   Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.   A graveside committal service for Dennis took place on Friday, Aug. 2, at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Iron Ridge with Rev.    Ronald Lee Schroeder, 88 of North Fond du Lac, formerly of Kekoskee, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Hope Senior Living in Lomira.   Ron was born on August 4, 1935, to Fred A. and Leona (Mueller) Schroeder in Kekoskee.   He graduated from Mayville High School in 1954.   Ron was united in marriage to Holly B. Bartel on March 4, 1953, in Carma, IL.   He was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Mayville.   Ron retired from Metalcraft in 2000. Ron also was a second-generation owner of Schroeder Floral and Landscaping. He also owned an ambulance and hearse service, and a snowmobile business that sold Sno-Prince snowmobiles. He was a welder, brake press operator, and maintenance man. Ron built their first two houses in Kekoskee by himself. He played hockey, loved being outside tending to his flowers, feeding wildlife, and traveling with his wife Holly. They enjoyed playing horseshoes, sheepshead, dancing to polka, and going on Harley rides. Most of all, he was a proud family man. He jumped at every opportunity to watch his grandkids and great-grandkids at their events/activities.    Ron is survived by his son, Scott Schroeder; his special friend, Mary Havey; grandchildren, Jason (Melissa) Schroeder, Jesse (Sara) Schroeder, Josey (Sarah) Schroeder, Megan (Mark) Meneau, Michelle (James) Harper, Avery Schroeder, Derek (fiancée Tara Haack) Schroeder, Eli Buchta, Miranda (Aaron) Zuege; 14 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jody (special friend Terry Wolter) Schroeder; son-in-law, Mark Belise; and beloved dog companion, Teddy.    Gwen S. Mellenthien, 85, of Horicon, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Christian Home in Waupun.    Gwen was born the daughter of William J. and Stephany A. (Partynski) Butterfield on October 28, 1938, in Chicago.   She graduated high school from Madonna High in Chicago, IL, in 1956.   She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Viterbo University in 1962 and went on to teach English and Theater at the Horicon High School.   Gwen was united in marriage to Roy F. Mellenthien on January 16, 1965, at St. Malachy’s in Horicon.   She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Parish in Horicon and was active in the Christian Mother’s/Womens’ group. She also was a youth minister, confirmation instructor, and aided with adult ministry. Gwen was a member of the Horicon Board of Education.   In her spare time, she enjoyed music, movies, reading, shopping and casino trips. She loved the time spent with her ‘birthday group’. Family was also important to Gwen, and she cherished the time spent with them, as well as many trips and camping together.    Gwen is survived by her husband, Roy of Waupun; her children, Colleen (Don) McCallum of Horicon, Brad (Lynn) Mellenthien of Richfield and Claire (Rick) Holz of Watertown; her grandchildren, Abigail, Anna and Cassidy McCallum, Rebecca Pieper, Ashley and Megan (fiance’ Matthew Marchus) Mellenthien, and Emily Haslow; her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Herd of St. Ann, MO; her special family friend, Gloria Krueger of Stoughton; her canine buddy, Moose; further survived by other relatives and friends.     She was preceded in death by her parents.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon with the Rev. Fr. Michael Petrie presiding. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.    David L. Knueppel, 64, of Brownsville, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the SSM Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.   David was born the son of Elmer and Genevieve (Enfelt) Knueppel on August 4, 1959, in Waupun.   He had worked for Knowles Produce and AlliedBarton Security for Michels Corporation.   In his spare time, David enjoyed the outdoors, especially while hunting and fishing. He also liked to put together models and have cookouts on his grill.   David was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brownsville.   David is survived by his sisters, Donna Harlan of Brownsville, Laura (Roger) Burmeister of Seymour, and Jean Werner of Rhinelander; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.    He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pat Bouzek; and brothers-in-law, Bob Harlan, George Bouzek, and Art Reinhart.    A funeral service for David will take place on Thursday, August 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Brownsville with the Rev.    Duane Ket­ter, 81, of Kekos­kee passed away sud­denly at home on July 21, 2024.   Duane was born on June 23, 1943, in Camp­bell­sport to Henry and Elsie Ket­ter. He at­tended Camp­bell­sport High School and grad­u­ated in 1961. Duane en­listed in the United States Army on July 4, 1964, and served until June 21, 1966, and he was sta­tioned in Fulda, Ger­many. Duane was a mem­ber of the Kekos­kee Fire De­part­ment for many years.   Duane worked for the De­part­ment of Nat­ural Re­sources as a Wildlife Tech­ni­cian from 1964 and re­tired at 60 years old in 2003. Duane met Mar­garet “Peggy” Weasler at a wed­ding and the cou­ple was mar­ried on Jan­u­ary 25, 1969, in Camp­bell­sport. Duane and Peggy were blessed with two sons, Rob and Mark.   Duane con­tin­ued his love of na­ture and con­tin­ued to work with the Fed­eral Wildlife Refuge in Hori­con from 2004 to 2021. The past few years, you could find Duane in the gar­den, in his work­shop mak­ing “any­thing” you wanted, or watch­ing a Cubs game and hav­ing a beer in the shop. He was a cross­word puz­zle lover, and went on walks with Peggy at the marsh. Duane was an avid hunter, and loved his dogs. In the early years, he pheas­ant hunted with his dogs and sons. Duane en­joyed turkey hunt­ing, and ap­pre­ci­ated the hunt more than the turkey.   Duane al­ways found time to at­tend his grand­sons sport­ing events and ac­tiv­i­ties. He was very proud of their ac­com­plish­ments. Duane was known to talk his grand­sons and other fam­ily into card and dice games when they would visit.   Those Duane leaves be­hind to cher­ish his mem­ory in­clude his wife of 55 years, Peggy; two sons, Robert (An­gela) Ket­ter and their sons, Jake and Kyle and bonus grand­daugh­ter, Mara, all of Oshkosh; Mark (Can­dice) Ket­ter and their sons, Blake and Bran­don (fiancée Olivia) all of Juneau; and spe­cial fam­ily friend, Emily Schae­fer.  Robert “Bob” Edwin Sette, 75, of Juneau, passed away on July 19, 2024 after a coura­geous 2-year bat­tle with can­cer.    He was born on Oc­to­ber 24, 1948, in Hus­tis­ford, to Edwin and Lil­lian (Pautz) Sette. Robert grad­u­ated from Juneau High School in 1966 and re­ceived his bach­e­lor’s de­gree from UW-Madi­son in 1970, where he was a mem­ber of the Alpha Gamma Rho fra­ter­nity.    In his youth, Robert was an ac­tive mem­ber of FFA and ded­i­cated his ca­reer to the agri­cul­ture in­dus­try. He took over man­age­ment of the fam­ily dairy farm, then worked at the Ree­seville Agri-Cen­ter, and re­tired from Knowles Pro­duce and Trad­ing Com­pany.   Robert was a life­long mem­ber of St. John’s Evan­gel­i­cal Lutheran Church in Juneau, ded­i­cat­ing his time to as­sist with ush­er­ing, audio/vi­sual, and trea­sury ser­vices. Robert en­joyed going to an­tique trac­tor shows, play­ing crib­bage, lis­ten­ing to 50s/60s music and watch­ing TV shows, such as NCIS and Blue Bloods. He found great joy in his grand­kids, es­pe­cially help­ing with their an­i­mals and 4-H pro­jects. As a true Wis­con­si­nite, he would cheer on the Green Bay Pack­ers and Bad­ger foot­ball teams.   Robert is sur­vived by his daugh­ters, Melissa Lake, Amy (Ryan) Baumeis­ter, and Gina (Ryan) Wit­tnebel; grand­chil­dren, Rose, Cas­sidy, Car­men, Adam, Olivia, Mason and Carly; sib­lings, Rus­sell (Pa­tri­cia) Sette, Linda (Glen) Pret­zer, and Bar­bara (Ron) Smits. He is fur­ther sur­vived by step-grand­chil­dren, step­great-grand­chil­dren, an uncle, nieces, nephews, other rel­a­tives and friends.    He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; son-in-law, Joseph Lake; and for­mer wife, Rose­mary Schulz.   Vis­i­ta­tion is Sun­day, July 28, from 3 to 6 p.m. at St. John Ev.    Geri T. Feucht, 69, of Mayville, passed away on July 16, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. Cancer did not win the battle, but it did kill her.   Geri was born on November 11, 1954, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Alex and Vernie (nee Pionkowski) Feucht. She was raised in Mayville and graduated from Mayville High School in 1973. She eventually earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and finally a master’s degree in library and information science at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.    She married Tim Bachhuber in 2004 and considered herself an amazingly lucky woman.   Geri worked in several libraries over the years and her favorite job was at Horicon Public Library in Horicon. Her favorite volunteer opportunities were with the Lions Eye Bank of Wisconsin (transporting corneas), the Friends of Mayville Public Library and the Marais Players of Mayville.   Geri believed passionately in the importance of reading and the value of public libraries in the quality of people’s lives. She believed that strongly funded, well-managed libraries are essential to a true democracy, and that you can judge a community by the quality of its libraries. Geri helped create the Friends of the Library organization for the Mayville library in 2014. She served on the Mayville Public Library board of directors for the past seven years.    Geri will be remembered for her sharp wit, brilliant mind, and her incredible memory for details. She had a love of antiques, good movies, theater, the symphony, musicals, and music in general. Geri and Tim met and acted in the Marias Players for years. Early in their married years, Tim and Geri would often fly to New York for a Broadway play weekend. She had a sense of adventure and love of travel. Their most memorable trips were to Italy, Egypt, France and Germany, and western national parks. Geri was an ardent democrat.   Geri is survived by her husband, Tim; siblings, Alex (Kuan) Feucht and Jean Schwarze; nieces and nephews, Benjamin (Avi) Schwarze, Christopher (Jen) Feucht, Kelly (Tom) Oechsner, Tom (Amber) Schwarze, Laura (Brian Apodaca) Feucht, Eric (Tahra) Feucht, Carol (Craig Weidert) Feucht, and Paul Schwarze; surviving in-laws, Christine Feucht, Pat Barone, Stephen (Irene) Bachhuber, Elizabeth Bachhuber (special friend Christoph), Todd Maitland, Mary (Bill) Watts, and Tom (special friend Eileen Riordan) Bachhuber. Geri is further survived by many cousins, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.    Geri was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, David and Bill, all of whom she missed daily. She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Arthur Schwarze, Stan Barone and Dan Bachhuber.   A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Geri will be held on August 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mayville, with Rev. Fr. Edwin Kornath officiating.
