Evelyn P. Thiemer


Evelyn P. “Evie” Thiemer, 101, of Kewaskum, passed away on June 29, 2024, at The Fields in West Bend, with her family at her side. Evie was born on April 12, 1923, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Emily (nee Hassinger) Kuehl. On February 10, 1945, she was united in marriage to Richard O. Thiemer at St. Jacobi Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Richard preceded Evie in death on July 4, 1993. Evie and her husband owned and operated Thiemer’s Bar, later known as Thiemer’s Sip and Snip, for 41 years. After selling the business to their son, Evie continued to tend bar until she was 88. She was also actively involved in her community, serving as past president of the Kewaskum Legion Auxiliary, the Kewaskum Women’s Club, and the St. Lucas Ladies Aid. Additionally, she enjoyed volunteering as the St. Lucas Library Aide. While living at Meadow Creek, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Evie loved traveling, taking trips to Hawaii, Washington State, Alaska, Colorado, and Florida with her family, and spending weekends at Shawano Lake and Lake Camelot. Those Evie leaves behind to cherish her memory include her two children, Richard D. Jr.(Mary) Thiemer and Carol Krejci; four grandchildren, Richard E. III (Lori) Thiemer, Lisa (Matt) DeKarske, Ralph Krejci, and Mandy (Kirt) Norris; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley (Brandon) Voss, Richard P. IV (Libby) Thiemer, Tracy (Carol) Thiemer, Megan Norris, Elliot Norris, Ethan Norris, Brittany (Andy) Parshen, and Michelle DeKarske (Brandon); nine great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Kuehl; other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, Evie was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Shirley; son-in-law, David Krejci; a sister, LaVerne (Harold) Uelmen; a sister-in-law, Shirley Kuehl; and a nephew, Gary Kuehl. VISITATION: Evie’s family will greet relatives and friends at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Drive, in Kewaskum, on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. SERVICE: A funeral service for Evie will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. Rev. Timothy Henning will officiate and a private entombment will take place at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac on Monday. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Fields CBRF, Allay Hospice, Inclusa, and Alicia Pierson, whose kindness was so much appreciated, as well as Pastor Tim Henning for all of his visits and prayers.
